The Next Pats QB: Daniels or Maye?

I'd be fine with Daniels for sure, as he's as good as a prospect as one could realistically hope for. However... His weight is still concerning. Sure, 210 isn't terrible, but 210 and he doesn't run the 40 or 3-cone, and he's wearing a long-sleeved hoodie while throwing, in an indoor facility...

What do you want Pats to do with #3?

Ahh, thanks. I don't read too good.

Are you talking about McCarthy? ESPN has his 2023 stats as 240/332 = 72.3%. Maybe I'm missing something.

What do you want Pats to do with #3?

Well, probably a few QBs have hurt their stock with relatively poor pro days (e.g., Teddy Bridgewater). McCarthy threw so little during the season, it might have been useful to see what he could do, specifically, throwing left, or with touch, or the long ball. But I can't imagine it did much...

What do you want Pats to do with #3?

I gave up trading down for him a few weeks ago. And I'd take him at #3, but I'll root for Maye or whoever we draft. Like I said, I'm just a guy with a laptop. Surprised no one has posted McCarthy's throwing session at his pro day: View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jkm7ilkacuA

If you say so. Pretty sure I've made it clear I'm a McCarthy guy.

Except that it's probably going to take us a few years to figure out we missed at QB. We have to blame every other position group and the coaches first, right?

Yet another Pats draft poll--Your preference, 5 weeks out

That's fair, and I'm not suggesting McCarthy doesn't have warts. I was higher on him in the fall and soured a bit as the season went on. I was stunned at how little he did ... or was asked to do. To be fair, there were probably a few reasons why Michigan turned to a run-heavy offense. Their O...

2024 Mock Drafts are more fun than this boring, awful Patriots Team

Back in the day my wife threw bails in W. Virginia. Not a euphemism. She agrees with you.

Yeah, probably. And almost certainly if he wasn't a Manning, Eli would not have been.

I could live with this. If Daniels works out, it's a winner (I'm much more comfortable with him than Maye). Suamataia and Morgan should be at least serviceable starters, though the latter and his sub 33" arms might need to move inside. Farm Gronk is an A+ character guy, but I'm not sure he moves...

Yet another Pats draft poll--Your preference, 5 weeks out

Yeah, for sure Maye is a much better athlete than Eli, but I was thinking they were both one man shows in college who were raw, a bit erratic, and difficult to evaluate. And Eli made himself into a borderline top 10 QB with flashes of horseshoe-up-his-ass brilliance despite a 62% completion rate...

Yet another Pats draft poll--Your preference, 5 weeks out

So Maye might be one of the most physically impressive QBs ever to play ... or a backup. Oddly enough, I'd probably buy that. Note: Curious as to why you chose Rosen, who's similar in size but slow and had a meh arm and character issues. Anyway, I think the Allen and Jackson comparisons are much...

    Patriots' 2024 Free Agency Thread

This might have been Brown's best play ever. Too bad we couldn't take care of biz the next week.
