    2024 Rotation and Bullpen

Hard agree with this take. I wouldn't read too much into this as some risky strategy the Sox are implementing for the full season and are therefore flirting with injury. It was a good game plan vs. the Mariners and it worked. From the Seattle Times:

Remaining Free Agent Speculation and Signings (Trades, too)

I think this may have been discussed way earlier in the thread, but I'm not sure the Red Sox can be competitive for these 1-year pillow contracts for pitchers I'm seeing thrown around here. Over the last 3 years, Fenway has been the second most hitter-friendly park in the league, with a park...

    2024 Red Sox Spring Training

View: https://twitter.com/tylermilliken_/status/1764443118449877013?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw Including this here to echo @SouthernBoSox with a little more info. Houck's velo is up, too. And then there's this extra tidbit from Yahoo Sports: That's followed by a discussion of changes to Giolito's...

    What does 2023 look like?

If you listened to their podcast, you'd know that they think Rafaela needs about 400-600 ABs in AAA to work on his approach. He chases a lot and doesn't recognize pitches well. He has the bat speed and hands to be a good hitter but he has a lot of work to do. And yes, I know he's had better...

    Ceddanne Rafaela promoted to AAA

It's funny you say that. In the most recent SoxProspects episode, they cite the bad-hitting version of JBJ as an outcome if Rafaela can't refine his approach in AAA. They also said to not be surprised if he gets 300-400+ PAs at the AAA level in order to have the best chance to refine his...

    Ceddanne Rafaela promoted to AAA

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. Every time Rafaela gets brought up on the SoxProspects podcast, they're quick to mention that he has a lot of work to do on his approach. He seems to be guessing on pitches, and pre-deciding when he's going to take rather than recognizing and laying off...

I'm still confused about the violation call on Turner... what did he do wrong with 8 secs left on the clock?

    What does 2023 look like?

I'm in agreement with the spirit of this post, but the newest Sox Prospects podcast was just discussing how rough Alfaro is behind the dish. They've started breaking down starts by catcher so they can separate out the games he catches when looking at pitcher stats.

    What does 2023 look like?

And they've weathered a stretch where their starting pitching couldn't get much worse. Although, now that I'm looking at it, Pivetta, Whitlock, and Houck are all at 105 ERA+, and Crawford is at 106.

4/18 The Twins come to town

Good ABs, bad contact for the most part. But the fly to CF and especially the lineout to LF give me hope. I feel like he's one adjustment away from going on a tear.

Sox Sign OF Adam Duvall to 1 year deal

I'm familiar with DRS and a fan of his posts, as an off-and-on reader of this board for 10+ years. And yeah, I knew there was controversy surrounding Chao but thanks for the invitation to read up on it. Specifically, there is a fairly long list of botched surgeries and questionable drug...

Sox Sign OF Adam Duvall to 1 year deal

For what it’s worth, this is an ex-NFL head team doc who has a big following for fantasy football injury analysis.
