    Who Should The Sox Extend?

Rob Bradford had a tweet earlier in spring training where he reported that Houck and the Red Sox had talked extension but nothing was imminent. So perhaps him.

NFL Draft - General Notes and Buildup

Tough call, but I'd probably prefer 6 & 47. Reports are the draft is around 15 deep with first round talent, and if true, I think 6 & 47 has the potential to return more talent. Assuming four QBs go in the first five picks, at six I'm guaranteed the second best receiver or the best OT. At 11...

NFL Draft - General Notes and Buildup

The Chargers are in a great spot if they're interested in trading down for a haul. They've got the Giants and Vikings angling for QBs, plus perhaps Denver, and with the top-4 picks likely the three QBs and MHJ, suddenly pick-5 looks pretty valuable. As an aside, I can see the Pats being in a...

    What is next for BB?

Only half kidding. He breaks Shula's record, retires from the NFL, and then walks into the Nantucket Public Schools Superintendent's office and tells him/her that he wants to coach the football team.

    Rate the Mayo Hire

Neutral. Many first time coaches (second time too) in the NFL seem to struggle and are fired within two or three years, putting their teams on a treadmill of frequently starting from scratch. This constant turnover doesn't allow for organizational structure and culture to get established...

Official Patriots 2024 Draft Pick Watch Thread (#3)

His contract is terrible. Denver should be paying the Patriots to relieve some of the financial burden. If not, the Broncos can pay the $85 million, or whatever it is, that he is still guaranteed.

Official Patriots 2024 Draft Pick Watch Thread (#3)

Another possibility. SMU got me considering this one. Let’s say Pats really like Daniels (or one of the other qbs) and trade out of 2 or 3 to 8-10 range, still get Daniels along with another 2 this year and a 2025 1st. Now you’ve got a high 1 and two high 2s this year. You can get your QB, LT...

Cutting The Cord on Cable/Satellite TV Service?

Yes. I have the Platinum Advantage Plan and it has the radio play-by-play home/away for all four major sports. I listen to the games through the SiriusXM app on my phone.

    2024 Core

Thanks for the responses. For 2024 it would seem keeping Verdugo, despite pending free agency, is the play while looking to cash Duran for pitching/RH power. Matasaka/Rafaela/Verdugo with Abreu and Refsnyder isn't terrible next year, with Anthony and Bleis due soon thereafter.

    2024 Core

This is for JM3, and the others who follow the prospects closely. Is Roman Anthony strictly a CF, or is there a scenario where he goes to RF and Raffaela stays in CF? Or vice versa? It seems with both projecting as plus defenders that they'd be wasted in LF.

A Tip of the Cap to Mr. Castiglione

Same here. Back in the 1980s, every summer I'd visit my grandparents cottage in northern Maine close to the Canadian border and spend weeks there. No tv, two decades pre-internet, but every night Joe and Ken Coleman would come on WTIC to call the Red Sox game (much static some nights, crystal...

NESN will show Red Sox home games in 4K HDR in 2022

Take it FWIW, but Fenway on the Bruins forum at hfboards, who I believe does tv production for Bruins games, posted the other day that YouTube TV and NESN are close to an agreement.

    Jerry Remy Has Passed Away

So, I’ve been thinking about Jerry and his impact. On me, specifically. I’m in my 50s, so getting older. For the last 25+ years I’d go to sleep listening to Jerry and whomever his partner was, though mostly Don. It was very comforting to hear a familiar voice as I went to sleep. Prior to that...
