    I wonder if they are going to base the outcome/penalty on how far the Pat's make it. I could see them having a pre determined/graduated penalty for each subsequent round we make it through as the public outcry against the Pat's will be far less if we aren't relevant.

    The real issue is that we can't replace his contract. I think the guy is truly toxic despite his talent but would resign him in a heartbeat just because of the cap implications. That being said I've thought since January that he was gone and I'm surprised Danny didn't see it and ship his ass out...

    Because as stated previously in this thread if he has the surgery he is forfeiting millions in a contract year. He is going to play if at all possible because it serves his own interest.

    Another recent comp was Gates who (if memory serves correctly) only missed a couple weeks due to an MCL sprain.
