Born In Brockton Massachusetts, grew up in Auburn NH I've been living in Stowe Vermont since 2003. My grandfather was born in 1919 and died two weeks after the Sox were eliminated in 2003, he loved the Red Sox and his life was bracketed by Championship teams but he never witnessed the team he loved winning it all. Also, the Yankees pretty much killed my grandfather... I'm not sure why, but I feel like there was something beautiful about the hapless Red Sox, getting the hopes of New England up, drawing us in only to fail in a horrific way. Time after time. I guess 2004 wouldn't have been as magical as it was if there wasn't 2003 to frame it.
