The Arms (Errr, Legs) Race: 2022 Summer Transfer Window

Everton should really loan Pepe or buy him for a very small fee. I know that Everton fans are tired of big six rejects but he would actually be a great fit for them. He can't work within a disciplined possession setup at all but for a counter-attacking team that badly needs a little individual...

Some interesting selections by Klopp for this match. Milner and Elliott starting ahead of Henderson and Keita in midfield. And Phillips ahead of Gomez. Palace are also going five at the back, which is unusual for them.

I haven't seen any rumors to this effect but a semi-subsidized loan to Napoli would make a ton of sense. They are short in attack after losing both Insigne and Mertens, Spalletti is a good manager, and Serie A might be a good league for CP in the long term.

It's Brewster's Millions but Todd Boehly needs to spend 300m before September 1st on players he had never heard of three months ago.

Arsenal 22-23: Time to Deliver the Goods

That all sounds about right. I think teams are still kind of learning/adjusting how to play against Arsenal and over time we're probably going to see more and more deep blocks that are difficult to unlock. Odegaard has had a pretty quiet start to the season and he'll need to up his game...

That's not really true. Its one of the many, many actions that is not specifically listed in the rules as a red card offense, so the referee has to make a case-by-case determination whether the action rises to the level of "violent conduct" or not. I'm pretty sure head butting and stuff like...

Arsenal 22-23: Time to Deliver the Goods

Saturday's match was one of my favorite Arsenal performances in a long time. I thought Leicester actually played fairly well but we were just too much for them. It's a lot of fun to finally see Arteta's tactical vision really coming together. We have a very soft group of fixtures coming up -...

I don't think there are any real complaints with the first goal. As DJ says, whether it was a foul or not, it was in a different phase of play. Richarlison was offside and probably screening the keeper somewhat, but you basically never see that called on shots outside the box in that situation...

Tuchel and Conte both acted like clowns. I don't really understand how VAR can't give Romero a red on the hair pull. What exactly would they have to see for that to be deemed violent conduct? A face stomp afterwards?

    Pull the Lever(s): 2022-2023 Barcelona

As far as I can tell, with the 3rd and 4th levers they've just sold 49% of something that loses money for 200m. Depending on what one thinks about web3 and the future of NFTs (I am a skeptic, personally), that sounds like a decent deal to me. I imagine the domestic TV rights deal hinges a lot...

@rguilmar, what's your take on Yeremi Pino? Lots of rumors are coming out of local Villarreal media that Arsenal (and maybe Liverpool, although I suspect that might not be true) are in for him. I know he is very highly rated in Spain and obviously has developed quickly but not much beyond that.
