2020 Pats: OL-la-di, OL-la-da, Life Goes On, Scar!

Bentley and Jennings are somewhat slow. Agreed there. Aside from Beau Allen I wouldn't say any of the front 7 are slow except for I know nothing about Xavier Williams. Now you have some guys who are average speed like Lawrence Guy but Cowart, Butler, Wino, Wise, Simon, Rivers, Calhoun, Phillips...

    2020 Pats: Cooking with Cam

@Super Nomario Thank you - that was illuminating. Honestly since watching tape still takes me a lot of time I can't get to each grouping. Like this week was RB, OL, DL, LB and JJW and Dugger. No time for TE except for when the TE was an OL (TE in name only, TEINO??). As noted I looked at the...

2020 Pats: OL-la-di, OL-la-da, Life Goes On, Scar!

Football Outsider's Ben Muth (former offensive lineman himself) has a review of the Patriots performance on Sunday and how they ran different options/used-Cam. Mark Schofield does too. (Mark's article came out first - if y'all want to check him out at Touchdown wire. He is a fantastic read)...

2020 Pats: OL-la-di, OL-la-da, Life Goes On, Scar!

Well, crap I don't mean to double post but I just saw this and I posted about Onwenu in a different thread. I also just finished my Pats review and came away with similar glowing notes.

2020 Tompa Bay: Trouble in Paradise?

I rooted for him. I want him to do well. I think Cam is a better fit with their offensive personnel this year (and last year too) BUT I still love Brady. He is and always will be the guy I think of when I hear the word quarterback.

    2020 Pats: Cooking with Cam

Chubb was the RB I wanted them to take that year. Now in all fairness I liked Sony too and thought he'd be a good fit. One of the hard things with the draft is you don't know how healthy/explosive a guy is or if the injuries have begun to take their toll. With Sony I've gone back the past two...

    2020 NFL: Wk.1 Game Thread

So sorry it took so long. NFL really took their time releasing the all-22. I am going to spoil my game notes since they are long. Watson's delivery when under pressure needs some work however if I were to assign blame that would be low on the list. Could he have been better? Sure. Would I put...

    2020 Pats: Roster & Beyond (non-QB edition)

A couple things I would point out. One is something I noticed myself and one is from Evan Lazar. So coming out his footwork on his releases was a mixed bag and not among the best in the class. There are various releases you can do as a WR but generally jogging in place is not what you want to go...

2020 NFL: Ongoing AFC Rankings Thread

Tier 1 - Likeliest contenders for AFC Crown 1) BAL- think they are the most complete squad in the AFC and Lamar's passing looks even better this year. If Happy masters putting... 2) KC - I know they are the champs but they have some issues at OL and front 7. Also this is more like a 1a and 1b...

    2020 Pats: Roster & Beyond (non-QB edition)

Chung is an almost 8m cap hit if cut before June 1st 2021. He would be around a -1M cap savings next year so not exactly a cut candidate. Hightower: 2.5m dead cap hit before or after June 1st. He would save 10m though. High is a great versatile player but 10m savings is a lot of money. edit...

    2020 Pats: Roster & Beyond (non-QB edition)

Chicago Tribune says Allen Robinson has asked for a trade. Just putting this out there. Not only did he remove Bears from his social media but sources told the Tribune he is asking to be traded. Robinson would be a FA after this year. (others have pointed out some of these points)

The Game Ball Thread: Wk.1 vs Phins

I was reviewing PFF and FO this morning and in PFF Sony was the 13th highest rated RB and the 14th highest rated for just running so far. With FO he was 6th in DYAR and 3rd in DVOA%. Small-small-small-small sample size but he passed my eye test and it looks like the advanced stats say he did...

The Pre-Game Thread: Wk.2 at Seahawks

@Silverdude2167 He also has a 1.8% interception rate for his career. That's excellent. Also to your point he doesn't make mistakes often.
