If you're talking about that CSU / Texas game, I absolutely agree. That was putrid.

God what garbage. I kept watching for how bad it was.

The Frailty of the Modern Pitcher

Moving the rubber back would certainly increase pitcher injuries. That idea is bananas.

Not at all. I would be interested to see if pitchers had some advantages back; maybe hitters would have to adjust. Try for base hits more often than swinging for the fences.

She's definitely an icon where I travel. Perhaps Linda Rondstadt is a better example. She had a bunch of crossover hits on the rock charts, and was pretty damn famous in the late 70's/early 80's. Again: not TSwift famous.

The Frailty of the Modern Pitcher

The most interesting idea in this thread, imo, is to alter the mound height and strike zone back closer to 1968 dimensions. I wonder if that would also affect the launch angle stuff (another development that hasn't been good for the game.)

I guess technically not a pop icon, but one of the most popular singers in history.

The Frailty of the Modern Pitcher

My theory 10 years ago was that slow games were causing the decrease in IP and increase in pitcher injuries. As in: a starter had to be active for 3 hours to get to the 7th, when in the past the game would be over. I'm not as confident about that theory now in the pitch clock era.

Dolly, Emmylou, Stevie all come to mind. They were never close to Swift's current level, but who ever was? And they were up there in their prime. One could argue that Dolly is in a Renaissance prime. Probably one of the 10 most famous/recognizable people on earth right now.
