"We're going to Disney World!" NBA to resume season July 31 at WDW

Yeah, I thought it was a joke, too, until I saw the replay and then was pretty obvious it actually was a foul. The most amazing thing was LeBron turning to the ref mid-air and yelling for the foul and then completing the lay-up. Very LeBron. As for people writing LeBron off, a lot of them post...

A fan of a team with a GM who was the most famous whiner of his era. I also love the endless endless endless whining about...whining. As opposed to say greatness in action combined with great team player and, yes, real eloquence tonight about Breonna Taylor.

LeBron's look was amazing -- like...wow. This is an excellent game. Jokic and Murrary are so good and so fun. And LeBron and Davis are...well, obviously, they're great.

And, just as importantly, LeBron is the rare star who is about elevating those around him. There's no Pippen-Jordan stuff here -- the way he wants AD to have the spotlight and the way he literally feeds teammates on the court and figuratively pumps them up off the court is part of his...

Baseball Writer Roger Angell Turns 100

What a great, great author. And for a really fun read and update on what he's being doing, this is quite good: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2014/02/17/old-man-3 bankshot, I think he still has his fastball :) (or did as of a few years ago, anyway)

Never thought of the Belichick analogy, but it's spot-on. It really is an indictment of sports media that there's this pattern, from Jordan to BB to LeBron -- chasing the shiny new thing. That said, in the NBA part of is that it makes no sense to have the criteria be so focused on the regular...

He's going up my list, too, but Pedro is still at the top of the pile -- some things don't change. Russell and Ali too. But watching LeBron play is just amazing -- don't recall anyone who had his combination of intelligence, athleticism, versatility, and team-mindedness.

That's a lot of offense -- a joy to see stars like LeBron and Jokic who are such great passers. At some point, though, one or both of these teams have to rev up the defense.

Clippers Thread: Just Be Healthy in April

Thing is OKC is a pretty strong team as is. I doubt they want more picks -- I think they'll want to convert Paul and/or some of the many picks they have into complements to Shai G-A and keep competing.

The Heat is on, ECF here we come!

ball never left Tatum's hand, he was touching it the whole way, so not a goaltend. It did occur to me that if Tatum had gone for a layup from above the rim there's a good chance it would have been a goaltend (not that he should have done so -- gotta go for the sure slam. (well, the "sure" slam).

Pretty good 4th, too. Total BS that the Lakers are being gifted anything -- Portland was about as tough an 8th seed as you can get (recall more than a few picked them to win) -- and pretty sure Houston would have been picked over anyone other than the 2 L.A. teams -- but that said while the...
