I grew up in Connecticut as a fan of all the NY teams. Moved to the Boston area 40 years ago and stayed. Quickly switched allegiances to become a Celtics, Bruins, and Patriots fan, but despite several sincere efforts have been unable to manage the conversion to Red Sox fan.

I understand that this is Red Sox territory and try to be respectful of that fact with all my friends who are Sox fans. I think the rivalry with NY is at its best when both teams are playing well.
