Please don’t put Rivers in the Hall of Fame. Classic stat compiler.
He's a been a really good QB. He's an eight time pro bowler that's two more than Roethlisberger. I think he had the misfortune of playing in the AFC his entire career at the height of Brady and Peyton Manning's dominance.

Edit: He's had six playoff trips, but never made a SB. Eliminated by Brady three times, Manning in Denver when they went on to win the SB, the 2008 Roethlisberger Steelers who won the SB and then the immortal Mark Sanchez Jets team that went to the conference championship.

‘The Pittsburgh Steelers look like the Pittsburgh Steelers’

‘They look like the Steelers of the 70s’

We’re off to the races.
So now the Pats win over the Steelers is a good win?

Or, amazingly, teams look better when they don't play the Pats?

The Chargers went 12-4 last year right? Won a road playoff game? Were picked by MANY to beat the Pats? What the FUCK happened to that team?
same thing as the Rams... being consistently good year to year in the NFL is something almost no one can manage.

I'd like to know what the actual origin is of that illegal touching rule. If a guy steps out of bounds as he's running down the field, comes back in as soon as he can, runs another 30 yards, and downs a punt in the middle of the field, who the fuck cares that he stepped out of bounds 10 seconds ago? That seems like a rule that just never made sense and it feels like it's sticking around only because it's so forgettable except for the rare occasions it comes up.

Its clearly hot-takey but you have to wonder if the Rams may have peaked with last season. What a horrible showing.

On the other side, the 49ers look to be legit at this point.
Goff has been really bad ever since the 54-51 game against the Chiefs last year. 79.3 rating, 13 TD’s, 13 INT’s in 9 regular season games since. He wasn’t good in the playoffs either.

Yeah - the McVay bump may well have been a fleeting period before the league adjusted to him. He is still young but has to adjust himself now.

The rule seems valid you are just taking about an edge case.

Last year, a Dungeons and Dragons internet stream drew more live viewers than the Chargers had fans in the stadium while the two were on against each other.
ill be the first to laugh at the lac not filling a soccer stadium (albeit the biggest soccer specific stadium in the US) but that seems a sample size issue

Part of it is that their O-Line is a disaster, it's a lot easier to scheme your average-ish QB into a great offense when you have a good O-line and an elite RB, a bad O-Line and mediocre running back makes it a lot harder.

The Chargers aren’t good at this tackling thing.
They went through the chargers D in the broadcast during the second PIT possession, you know the intros with the headshots, and it had the PFF ranks for everyone. And I know PFF doesn't mean everything but the majority of those guys were like, 79th out of 82 at their position, 80th out of 82, etc. It was dramatic. One guy was 7th, that was it.

Maybe they've just had a huge talent drain. Their OL is getting eaten alive too.

The 49ers continue to remind me of Harbs first team. Hopefully they make it further!

Rivers is still a poor man's Tom Brady, he stays in the pocket, usually makes good decisions, and if you give him time he will find the open guy and rip you to pieces.

He hasn't had time, of course. And had some bad luck on the tipped ball. But he's also put some long throws right on the money.

Saints and Seahawks look good. Maybe GB.
Russ is great, but I don’t think the Seattle defense can keep up with even above average offenses. They’ve won 4 of their 5 games by 4 points or less. Barely beat the Steelers with Rudolph. Lost at home to New Orleans with Bridgewater...

Am I missing something? Is fair catch interference not a penalty? Shouldn’t the Chargers have gotten yards for that too?

Another field goal, down 3 scores with 14 minutes left.

Oh, it's good. And you're still down by 3 scores. Great job, Lynn.
