Sounds like Bedard is implying that Bennett is not exactly drawing a lot of interest around the league.
Or that teams have no interest in helping the Patriots, at their current price. How long do you think he'd be unsigned if released?

Not sure if true. A contender could always take a chance on the vet. As you've mentioned above, Bennett has been efficient on limited snaps. I don't think we've seen the best out of him yet.

Well, of course it won't happen this weekend. The other teams have to play...

That's what I'd call an early Christmas present. Still not sure if Falcons would trade Hooper but he'd be a terrific upgrade over Izzo/LaCosse.
I realize that in football we don't generally see the deadline trades that we do in baseball, but with the slightly later deadline this year that's exactly the type of move they should be making. Falcons should basically be in tank mode at 1-4, and perhaps if they can find a way to lose to the Cardinals today they'll come into the full realization. Hooper is a Free Agent after this season, so they don't get a lot by holding onto him for the year just to maybe pick up an extra win vs future assets.

Well wouldn't they likely get a 3rd round pick for him should someone else sign him in free agency? If I'm wrong, disregard. If I'm right, then they'd have to get back a better return than that in order to make it worth it.

I’d rather have Bennett in the rotation than Sanu. I’d only do that if Bennett was going to be gone anyway

Agreed. The strength of this team is defense. I’m not weakening a strength unless Bennett forces the issue. Albeit unproven, Harry is a reasonable proxy for Sanu.

Well, that's the thing isn't it? If BB moves him for a WR then that decision was clearly made about what's more important?

Between Diggs having a massive day in a back-on-track win for the Vikes, Austin Hooper coming up big for the Falcons and Emmanuel Sanders leaving the game with a knee injury, today was not so great for the Patriots prospects trade-wise. All in for AJ Green? The next few days should be interesting.

Most of the time, if the Pats make a move it's for someone off the radar.

The Vikings were not trading Diggs. Dude got a big extension and like everyone is playing/coaching for their jobs this year. That was wishful thinking driven by Diggs vaguely agitating for a move.

I really don't want Green unless they're trading him for nothing. Old, coming off an injury, and hasn't been as good as his reputation in years. Unless the Bengals would trade him for a 4/5 -- hard pass.

Peters is trash. Every time I watch him play I wonder how he is on a roster.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Rams manage their cap going forward. They’re trending toward the old Colts model of paying top dollar for a group of players.

That can work if you pay the right guys at the right positions and draft and develop well elsewhere. Problem is one of those guys is Goff.

It’s tough to give up those picks, as you’re looking at two plus cost controlled starters (and perhaps more if you trade back effectively), but Ramsey is a top 10-15 player on the league.

Not only is one of those guys Goff, but another is a RB that can't stay on the field and another is a WR that is good but not elite.

Good call out on Cooks. Gurley we all know about, but I forgot just how big the Cooks deal was.

They’ve got Fowler and Brockers up after this season, and Kupp is up after next season.

I don’t know how they’re gonna play this if the goal is to have a 5 year plus window as a contender.

I love Gilmore but if someone offered the Pats that same haul for him, I'd have to consider pulling the trigger.

On second thought, not till after the Superbowl.

I just realized that, barring another trade to acquire a first down the line, they will go from 2017 thru 2021 without making a first round pick. That's insane. Is there any precedent of another team not picking in the first round for five years in a row?
