Love it. Young dudes with upside for Molten Mitch. Take care, brother. Keep it rollin', Chaim.
Sometimes I think "with upside" is just a euphemism for "haven't shown anything yet." I'm finding it hard to get very excited about a prospect who hit .242/.372/.314 at A+ ball.

He has the athletic ability to be plus plus as a defender, he has a unique ability to control the strike zone, and he’s incredibly young.

He’s immediately a top 10 prospect in this system. I’m not sure what you expected from Mitch Moreland.

My guess is that Bloom sees Rosario as currency rather than locked into future plans, but he’s got an interesting skill set to build from.

One thing that jumps out at me about Rosario is that he’s 6’1” — a bit bigger a frame than most speedy slap-hitting outfielders, so maybe there’s more gap power in there than he’s shown. I wondered for a few years there if Jarrod Dyson would make a good 4th outfielder for us, and Rosario has an outside shot at pulling off that kind of career.

...as a 19 year old. The contact and on-base skills clearly aren't going to translate if he can't add more thump, but his youth speaks to the likelihood of that happening.

Are we near the end of the line for the return on this trade?
On March 23, the Red Sox designated Rosario for assignment to open a spot on the 40-man roster for Trevor Story. Three days later he was claimed by the Yankees. So far in the young season he's 1-11 with a HR and 4 Ks.
Meanwhile, Hudson Potts lost his spot on the 40-man on March 22 but went unclaimed. Now he has started the season for Portland at 0-14 with 5 BBs and 8 Ks. Not only that, he's been bumped down the defensive spectrum, from 3rd to 1st. Last year he hit .217/.264/.399 (.663 OPS) with 100 Ks against 16 BBs in 281 ABs (36% K rate). I wonder how long the Red Sox give him to try to get straightened out.

NY snuck Rosario off the 40 man around Opening Day and he went unclaimed so they have a year to look at him in AA, he has shown few signs of being able to translate his superb athleticism to baseball but he is still just 22.
