How do I turn off the Twitter sports ticker?

I don't care about this kind of thing like I used to, but it'd be nice to be able to attempt to browse Twitter while watching recorded sporting events without having scores blasted at me from the top of the mobile app. I have googled but don't find an answer, any help is welcome. Thanks!!

Unfollow those teams maybe? Can refollow easily enough later.

I mean, if you watch a recorded Yankee game, and follow the team, their tweets are going to show up in your timeline too.

Right, but generally I can scroll backwards chronologically, meaning if I am 45 minutes behind in the game, I can stop scrolling once I get close to that.

I mean, I realize the real answer is 'don't look at Twitter if you want to make sure results aren't spoiled', but also it is absurd if there is no way to turn it off.

Use a non twitter app (like Tweetbot on iOS). Is really the only answer.

On tv rebroadcasts, have the ticker be the same one that was being shown when the live game was on.

Same complaint- you watch a game late at night that's a rebroadcast from a few hours earlier and you see the final score of the game you're watching flash across.

I didn't know what this meant last night but it was the correct answer. Under every score, there is a little arrow and you can 'unfollow MLB' and 'unfollow Yankees' and now I seem to no longer have a Twitter ticker, yay.
