Really hoping for Reed to have an epic collapse at some point but he looks solid. Very disappointed (but not surprised) with Rory's slide in round 2. Next couple of days should be fun as conditions get tougher - even though it's not as juicy a leaderboard as you'd hope going into a major weekend.

Rory fell off, but I think this is still a juicy leaderboard.nobody likes Reed or Bryson but they are absolutely interesting stories for a variety of reasons. JT is 2 shots back. Xander, Wolff, Matsuyama and Ram 4-5 shots back and in the mix.

Alex Noren makes the cut on the number, and then cards a 67 in the third round. He's at +3 overall, and will probably get to sleep in tomorrow.

Justin Thomas just hit the worst tee shot on #2 that I think I've ever seen a a top pro hit

Muscles with an epic hook off the tee on #2 after choking on a bogey at 1. But please NBC, keep telling me about how he's the perfect modern, scientific player.

JT had a day.

Note, I read on Twitter that Wolff has a full stroke gained off the tee versus the field today. The fairways matter until they don't matter at all. All of Wolff's misses were from the right angle.

They're talking about how the power of these players is trumping accuracy and destroying the golf course, but the reality is that the scores are still what US Open scores ought to be. DeChambeau is at, what, -3? I mean it's not like he's putting up -15 at the US Open.
