Oddly enough I am kind of enjoying this game. Liverpool look very lively in attack and probably should have a couple at least (I’d did think it was a pen)

But the defence has been, politely put awful. Starting to have serious doubts over Gomez.

Kind of reminds me of the Watford game last year ..
Van Dijk played historically well for two seasons. In all seriousness, he saved Lovren’s career by making the guy look competent. If Virgil returns to mere mortal status, his partner needs to step up. Gomez looks worse than he ever has. He’s either picked an awful time to regress or he was just never as good as #4 made him look in the past.

CB was an area of need this window. Fabinho may need to step back from the midfield full time if the side are going to reach the highest levels.

Gomez consistently lets wingers cut inside on him .. and he doesn’t need to due to his speed. It’s like he just doesn’t trust his physical abilities.

With about 50 minutes left to play, Villa has a decent shot at getting a draw here if they can effectively stall for time. Might need another goal though.

Or his situational awareness and communication sucks. I’ve had center backs pass off runners to partners that already had their hands full.

This is exactly why you save your game before each match in Football Manager.

I hope this means Joe Gomez never plays again. He has been an absolute disaster since they came back. He's unplayable at this point.

but shocking to see Villa midfield dominate LFC.

Trent has been pretty crap too, starting to believe his own hype?

It’s just going to be the Toffee’s year, huh?

It was pretty interesting how at the start of the season, Liverpool, City, Chelsea and Man U felt like close to the unanimous predictions for the UCL spots. It’s wide open and I love it.

Man I really called that Liverpool comeback. Absolute genius.

The red in the earlier match was crap. If we have to suffer this awful VAR world that nonsense shouldn’t happen. Tell both players you saw it all and that they’re both crybabies who will need to be two footed from behind to get another call all day

I mean, I haven't heard the official explanation - but there can't be any other explanation, can there?
Heard some postgame on the radio--because one was a shove backwards like on every corner, and the other was a deliberate chop to the neck.
