If I'm the Lakers I'm concerned that their three best players are all power forwards. I wouldn't kill a guy over a few bad weeks, but I don't think this signing is the home run that others do for LA.
Agreed. These aren’t bad moves, but I’m not sure I buy that swapping KCP, Rondo, Green and Howard for Harrell and Schroeder is some franchise altering upgrade either. They’ll be better in some areas next year and worse in others.

Are Ibaka and E'Twaun players that could be had with exceptions? Or will they be out of the C's range?

It's kind of amazing that FVV looked like he wasn't going to get a second contract, then went supernova from 3 in the playoffs and turned into a 20M a year player

If he goes to the Knicks, he loses, the Celtics lose and the Pacers lose. If there is really any chance of Warren, they should call his bluff and if he goes to NY, so be it.

Just spitballing, since this is a game thread-- I wonder what the Knicks would trade for Kemba Walker?
If Boston could trade him to NY in a decent deal, then Hayward would literally have nowhere else to sign for even $20 million, right?
Move Kemba to NY, and then offer Hayward 2 years at $20 million per?

He's not taking 2/40 after opting out of 1/34

This has seemed like an obvious deal for awhile. I wonder whether the Knicks don't have interest?

What do the Knicks have that we think Danny would be interested in? Barrett isn't happening, and I had the sense that New York values Robinson pretty highly, but drafting Toppin makes me question that. They waived Elf Payton. Julius Randle is a nice player, but doesn't really fill any of Boston's needs. Knox has looked pretty rough so far.

I'm not sure there's a fit there when it comes to talent or salary, even though they keep getting talked about as a partner.

Money and a chance to have a bigger role.
And pride. It was rumored that Utah's refusal to immediately offer him the max on his second contract (he had to go out and meet with other teams, then UT matched) stuck with him, and was part of the reason why he ended up leaving THREE years later. Who knows if that's true but it's worth remembering now, even though it's Hayward who opted out and has requested a trade to Indy.

4/85 for FVV is amazing in a world where Grant gets 3/60 and Hayward gets 4/120. Gun to my head, I might take FVV at 4/120 over Hayward.

Harrell really needs to fire his agent Lebron and find someone better with all the crazy contracts being given out the last few days.
