Sure, but when Caldwell is the best offensive head coach you get in your career ...

Still don't know why the offensive coordinator (the one with 3 names, none of which I can remember) who seemed to get the best out of Stafford never got the head job
Jim Bob Cooter is too busy right now being the Jets running backs coach

Hmm, what a well coached team... clearly knew that committing that penalty wouldn't QUITE give HOU a first down

Edit the real takeaway from the Lions is that either Patricia is a terrible coach, or he's a mediocre coach and we all underestimated Caldwell and he should get another job

I think Caldwell was pretty good but he is old now isn’t he?

edit:65

So, if you're the Pats, do you rehire Romeo as DC (and give him asst head coach title too) in the offseason?

Houston really did face a ridiculous schedule this season. And Bob trading Hopkins was one of the worst trades ever.

But Watson is great and they can keep building on that.

He's going to be 74, I'd really like someone younger who could be the Bellichick successor (unless I guess you assume Josh has that tied up).

Yes, Josh has that. Romeo wouldn't threaten him like a younger DC. Then Romeo heads into the sunset when BB retires (or earlier) (assuming good health for both) and Josh picks his DC.

The status quo isn't cutting it.

Part of the status quo that isn't cutting it is the McDaniels's offensive game plans

I really hope that when the end of the Belichick era comes, whichever Kraft is calling the shots wipes the board clean and goes in a completely different direction

Hell of a job by Tony Pollard getting a piece of Young in the backfield to set up that deep shot to Coop.

Watching the replay of the Cooper TD..... what was #23 doing. He had great coverage, then turned, slowed down like it was underthrown and he was going to pick it, but it actually was perfect and he gave up the TD. At the very least he should have made that a tough catch and not a TD.

Alex Smith looks and plays like a guy that hates that the best way for him to get rich is to play football but he is too smart to not take the money.

Makes an impossible TD catch last week in Minnesota and drops that one right in his hands tonight.

So on replay.... if the punter cuts that guy down, or even gets hands on him it might actually have worked. Instead it looked like he was.... pretending it was going to be a throw?

Maybe that was it. Punter thought he was going out for a pass?
