The opportunity to get PI calls like that make BB's dream of early 20th-century offense non-viable.

How good are the last 2 weeks shaping up in the AFC North? Final game in Cleveland? First time since 1989 that the Browns have a shot at the division title... and since 2002 to go to the playoffs.
Of course, the Browns have to beat the Jets next week ...:eyeroll:

Yes. Due to superior conference record, Steelers only lose division if they lose both games and Browns win out.

Fake edit: does that mean we are rooting for the Colts next week? Just threw up a little in my mouth...

I have a customer who's a Steelers fan, big crybaby, whined to me all the time about how "lucky" Brady was vs the Steelers..................he called me after they beat the Ravens bragging about how good they were doing, I told him "You're going to go undefeated and win the SB"...........he got all torked off and said "Great, thanks; now you jinxed us!"

They've gone 0-3 since, I hope they blow the division on the last game of the year, Yinzers everywhere will stroke out.

That's a lot of things that have to happen. People really are scrambling to make it seem like the Browns are going to get screwed. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh just lost to Cincy.
What's tough for the Browns is if the scenario plays out as above, the Bills will enter the final week as the two seed with nothing to play for, which means they could rest everyone against the Dolphins since the two seed no longer gets a bye.

But I guess at this point, if the Browns can't beat the Steelers in Cleveland, they don't deserve to make the playoffs.

There's a lot that needs to happen...but is it that far fetched? Those all seem reasonable, and as noted, Miami winning their two games seems like the biggest hurdle.

Colts win out...Steelers/Jags. The Steelers are playing like dog shit and the Jags are tanking for Trevor. Pittsburgh is still tough but that's not unreasonable.
Titans split...lose to GB, beat Houston. Again, this is possible.
Ravens win out...Giants/Bengals...Probably happening.
Miami win out...Raiders/Bills....difficult but not entirely unreasonable, especially if the Bills enter week 17 with nothing to play for.

It's not far fetched, but 10 things need to happen for the Browns to get screwed. That's a lot of dominoes that have to fall in a perfect way. One of those things is the Browns losing to the Steelers in the last week of the year. So the Browns do control their own destiny to make the playoffs. And they play the Jets this weekend and you figure the Browns won't look past them after what happened to the Rams.

My recollection is one of those 2 years the Pats missed the playoffs, either 2002 or 2008, the Browns beat them out for the playoff spot due to tiebreakers, via a far easier schedule. While I'd rather see the Steelers lose the division to them, the Browns missing the playoffs at 11-5 I would consider good karma.

2002. Which was the last year the Browns have been in the playoffs.

For fans of a team that has won a third (and played in half) of the Super Bowls this century, some of you really are extraordinarily petty.

Can you imagine the level of pettiness that is required to care about the Browns beating out the Pats in 2002, five super bowls and approximately 40 AFC Championship games later, while at the same time the Browns have been the worst franchise in all of sports?

You guys blaming the Browns have it all wrong.

The guy we need to be petty toward is Brett Fucking Favre, who shit the bed with the Packers in the 2002 season finale against the Jets and allowed them to take the division over the Pats.

And then the fucking rat bastard did it again in 2008, losing to the fucking Dolphins in the finale when a win would have given the division to the Pats.

It's Favre and Favre alone that is the reason the Pats didn't win 19 straight division titles.

Fuck Brett Favre.

Go Browns.

Edit:

2002 finale: lost 42-17, went 16-33 for 172, 1 TD, 1 INT. GJGE
2008 finale: lost 24-17, went 20-40 for 233, 1 TD, 3 INT. GJGE
