I'm more excited for today and tomorrow than yesterday.

As a reminder, Pats have the following picks left:

Round 2 (46)
Round 3 (96, compensatory)
Round 4 (120)
Round 4 (122, from Cardinals through Texans)
Round 4 (139, compensatory)
Round 5 (177, compensatory)
Round 6 (188, from Texans)
Round 6 (197)
Round 7 (242)

Hoping they use either a 4th or a 6th to move up today (either round) and grab defensive depth.

Seacoast NH
In this little corner of New Hampshire I’m waiting to see when Hunter Long gets picked. NH isn’t a football hotbed and he’s been in the papers as the draft approaches. He was my son’s year in Exeter and my son played with him until my son switched schools so it’s kind of cool to watch.

I wonder if the Seahawks will trade back. I think they only have 3 picks so you would think they at least consider it.

as they should, by far the least valuable position in football, very little discernable difference between 2nd rounders and undrafted in terms of outcomes.

Yes, just took most teams years to focus more on positions such as OLs and DBs.

Not likely they are trading any of their three picks unless they get a decent offer for a pick next year. According to ex-Seahawks Assistant GM and current Carolina Panthers GM Trent Kirchner, it was a deliberate choice by the Seahawks to not make picks this year due to the lower level of talent coming out (only about 850 players, as opposed to 1800 in a normal year), and because there just wasn't as much information available about those players.

Thanks, had no idea.

Interesting description of Ronnie Perkins by Bedard:

Ronnie Perkins, Oklahoma (6-2½, 253, 4.71)
: Worked out like crap but his film is excellent. Perkins is a standup player who can probably play some ILB if need be. Just a pain for everyone to block. Explosive. Doesn’t fit the Patriots’ player profile, but I’d be willing to take a flier on him later to see if something pops because he is a good football player. A tone-setter for a physical defense.

To be honest when your drafts have been bad I’m pretty okay with taking an upside guy who doesn’t fit the traditional profile.
True enough, but he does sound like a great fit if the Pats revive that Brownian motion front 7 with no set alignment pre-snap.
