I’m just glad that Ezra from Vampire Weekend is now a national champion quarterback.

Don’t finish bad for them. Tomorrow they’re going to be hoisting a “Finish above .500” banner.

This was a fun game. I do not hate either team. Alabama is a powerhouse and I like Saban. Georgia was a quasi underdog with probably the most fun college defense that I’ve seen in quite some time. Good for Georgia on closing that out, I hope that those kids are having fun tonight.

Too many injuries the past month and half and it came back to haunt them.

Got pushed around at the line of scrimmage, uncharacteristic penalties.

Credit to Georgia, they were the better team tonight and for the season as well. Honestly, was surprised the Tide made it this far.

Get em' next year.

I'm not as big of a UGA fan as I am a fan of the Falcons, Braves and Hawks, but both of my brothers attended UGA, and my 74-year-old mother is now writing me WhatsApp messages like "Stetson Bennett was a little wobbly during the first half, but made up for it later". So it's a very happy day in my family! And that pick-six, when I watched it on Sky+ this morning here in the UK, had me clapping and whooping like an idiot.

To everyone who insisted the Dawgs should go for two when they scored to go up 25-18: I definitely get that argument against normal defenses, but UGA had already stopped one two-point attempt in the game. And having that eight-point lead was a great insurance policy against the possibility of Bama scoring late - this wasn't like the end of regulation in Super Bowl LI, when the Pats converting for two against the Falcons was a foregone conclusion. I think you have to kick the PAT to go up eight there and leave Bama wondering if a TD really will tie up the game. (In fairness, there were far worse takes in the first few pages of this thread than that one was at the time...)

That pass Young missed in the end zone was brutal, but I thought he was repeatedly hitting receivers in the hands in the second half and they just couldn't make a touch catch down the field. Georgia hit theirs, and that was more or less the difference.

Glad the game was close. Happy to see a new champion, even if Georgia isn't exactly a plucky underdawg.

The black end zones have to go. It's like they're trying to make the game feel soulless.
