That sent before seeing the reverse angle, but the Staal penalty was only not a penalty in the 1990's, you can't hitch a ride while back checking.
Also Hall was a trip, but that was something on Grizz by specnikcov (sp?) with the ref starting right at it. Why it wasn't call is an interesting question.
He didn’t hitch a ride, he barely touched him and Lazar went down like he got shot. Should have been a dive.
This game thread is unreadable with all of the whining about the refs. All 3 of the bruins penalties were clearly penalties. Maybe they missed one on Carolina but made up for it with a terrible call in Boston’s favor.
Be happy that play has been fairly even and it’s tied after 1.
I think maybe giving people a little bit of grace given the tenor of the series, the last minute scratching of the bruins best player and the stakes would be a good thing.
Literally the only call (or in this case non call) that aggravated me was when Smith got tripped on the forecheck and they didn’t call it.
On that one I thought he just blew an edge but I’d have to rewatch. Happened quickly.
Anyway - that was a good period of hockey and fun to watch. Promising effort. Need Swayman to come up big in the 2nd period.
I still think too many passes. Inexperienced goalie. Just pepper him with shots. Stop trying for the perfect goal.
