If Salah holds on to the Golden Boot, he'll have Nick Pope to thank. Two brilliant saves today to deny Son.

Spurs have been on the other side of a couple of those dumb handball penalties, so I’ll take it when the tables turn.

I dunno. His arm is 90 degrees from his body, parallel to the floor just about.... even if it's not intentional that's got to be a pen.

I think even if that's against your side you don't have a complaint.

So much whining in this thread. You would think Saint Totteringham's Day was already canceled.

Not taking into account Leeds-Brighton which is 0--0 at 18':

At the moment, Everton have a two-point lead on Burnley with Everton now having three games left to Burnley's two - same situation as Leeds before start of Leeds' game but the GD matters - Leeds GD is so bad that they will lose any tiebreaker.

If Burnley win out, 6/6: Everton finish ahead of Burnley no matter what with 5/9; 4/9 goes to GD where Burnley are currently +1 so that's a likely Burnley advantage; 3/9 or fewer for Everton and Burnley finish ahead of Everton on points.

If Burnley 4/6: Everton finish ahead of Burnley with 3/9; 2/9 goes to GD where Burnley would finish ahead (if Everton had only two draws their GD would not improve), 1 or 0/9 and Burnley finish ahead on points.

If Burnley 3/6: 2 or more from Everton out of 9 and Everton finish ahead of Burnley. 1/9 for Everton and it goes to GD where Burnley would be ahead. Everton have to lose out for Burnley to finish ahead on points.

If Burnley 2/6: Everton have to lose out.

REAL TIME EDIT:LEEDS 0-1 BRIGHTON WELBECK 21'

The best way of getting the ref to award you a foul is to remonstrate and carry on like a child when you don’t get the call.

@teddykgb I know you had concerns at striker, but why has an Ederson replacement not been a priority? He’s fucking awful. That second should have hit him in the shins. He shuffles across the goal like a Sunday League keeper, stops his run out, and is utterly out of position. Just terrible goalkeeping.

What a joke to determine a champion on goal difference. Head to head should be the only tiebreaker. If that is even, then one game playoff.
Fully agreed, but this is just begging to have the title decided on penalties. That feels somehow worse.

Ollie Watkins just pulled Marc Guehi down by his shirt in order to score a goal, and they just let that go. Just don’t get this sometimes.

I saw this, it was another one of those "wait, I'm still pretty new to Premier League, that looked like it should be a penalty but maybe I just don't get it?" situations. Turns out maybe I did get it...

Apparently Vieira thought so too, because he got a yellow card from arguing it. I am surprised that the commentators didn't say much about it though.

(FYI, in this case it's a "foul" and not a "penalty". All penalties are fouls, but not all fouls are penalties :))

And just now!

Between all the basketball/hockey/baseball/soccer lately I can barely keep things straight anymore, just waiting for Zaha to get 2 minutes in the penalty box for a 3 second violation :p

Beautiful equalizer for Palace! And now Villa coming fast and furious, game is getting real exciting at the end here

Hahaha!

I know you're still learning (as am I for that matter), so figured you'd want to have the right terminology.

This is setting up a similar ending to a couple seasons ago, where Liverpool went into the last day needing a win and a City loss. Liverpool scored early, then City went down 1, and Anfiekd got excited. Then City scored. And again. And again.

That Newcastle draw’s gonna sting if it goes that way and they beat Real.

Leeds get a header at 90+2 with everyone but Medlier I. The Brighton six yard box. No less than they deserve. Although we’re fighting them for relegation I have to be moved by the reaction of players and fans

In regards to Ederson he’s been really shaky as a shot stopper but I just don’t know any keeper in the world right now who is transferable and good enough with his feet. I’d love for us to at least have someone to push him but unfortunately Steffen stinks. Bazunu is in our youth and getting rave reviews but I can’t see a young player displacing him

lamptey almost scores at 97 but it ends 1-1

Everton 36 pts, 3 games left, -19
Leeds 35 pts, 1 game left, -38
Burnley 34 pts, 2 games left, -18

Everton win and they’re guaranteed to finish ahead of Leeds so they’re safe. Leeds’ 1 pt lead over Burnley has to hold up with Burnley having a game in hand and GD advantage.

Everton draw and everyone’s still alive but Leeds has either to win and have Everton get 0/6 and Burnley > 3/6, or draw and then have Burnley get > 1/6.

Everton lose and it opens up although Leeds still has a game less and will lose any GD.

We’re back to my worst case scenario where City are ahead by a point after being gifted two extra against Everton.

I’m shocked that the Spurs fans think it was a penalty and the Arsenal fans don’t.
Spurs have been on the other side of a couple of those dumb handball penalties, so I’ll take it when the tables turn.

that penalty was no worse than .8 on the Sissoko scale of stupid, game altering penalties. Now we just need Trippier and friends to do Spurs a solid.

The first time Richarlison manages to stay on his feet he gets his shirt torn and watches his team concede a debatable red.

Considering his recent big goals in games he should have been disqualified from playing after back to back ignored red card offenses, that feels like karma.

If I’m Pickford I punt it off that Brentford player’s head. Put the fucker on a yellow card and back him off.
