Where would they put this snow after they shovel it off the seats? On trucks and dumped outside the stadium? Logistical nightmare.
There was a video from last night where it looked like people were shoveling snow into a chute that led to a collection bin. Guessing some of the poor saps working there had to keep dragging those off to be emptied somewhere.

I was in Buffalo all weekend for my son’s (partially outdoor) hockey tournament that was ultimately canceled on Sunday. We were stuck in the hotel Saturday night through this am with the travel ban. Honestly it seemed worse today than it was yesterday, but it can be deceiving if you fall just outside of one of the snow bands. We snuck out at 6am and getting to the highway was pretty tough, but once we were on 90 it wasn’t too bad. Glad to be out of there and almost home.
Yup, lake effect is a truly weird phenomenon. And it’s Buffalo, people there live with it their entire lives. The stadium is going to be packed. And there will be copious table jumping before it.

They should have built the stadium with electrical wiring in the seats and field--then turn on the juice and melt the snow

This is a holiday why the f aren’t they playing at 1?
Plus a short week until next weekend
Like how many places are actually off today? I don't know anyone in my industry that's off. Think they would lose a lot of eyeballs.

Just wear snowpants (ski pants) and sit on the snow in your seat. No biggie. If you're going to the game you know it's going to be freezing and wet and snowy so just prepare for it. Not a problem. The walkways are definitely more important to clear.

Coincidence that both guys finished at 157.2, which is 1.1 below the max a quarterback can get. I think Stroud was at that max for parts of the game Saturday (maybe Love too, I don't know). I have quarterback envy right now.

Most offices are not off if the estimate I saw of 45% of companies giving MLK as a paid day off is correct, or even close.

Who cares about your stupid link.

Given that the NFL plays 3 games a *week* in prime time where the games end after 11:20pm on the east coast, you're surprised the league is starting the game at 1:30pm Pacific Time and not 10:30am Pacific Time?

Are you just being obtuse for the sake of it? Holiday or not, the game was never starting at 1:30pm. If it was a day where every person had to stay locked in their homes or else get executed, the game would still start at 4:30.

Berman is a Bills fan? Never noticed and I heard him a lot during the pre-NFLN days when ESPN was about it for national sports.
YEah he always did the wagons thing but he also struck me as rooting for the Niners at times.

Yeah, the ESPN Prime Time with Chris Berman was IT before NFLN came around.

On Sundays, the day before a usual work day, most of the games start at 1PM

There are way more people who will be working tomorrow morning than ones who work this afternoon.
And especially a weird comment from you, who repeatedly reminds us he wakes up at ~5am.

It's not a weird comment. I despise the schedule because I can't stay up for prime time games. But it's still the schedule.

On those days they have 1pm games, do they have national games at 4:25pm and 8:15pm too or nah?

When was the last time the NFL had a 1pm game and then an open window at 4pm? I'll give you a hint. Never.

The night game tonight should have been originally scheduled for like 7 or 7:30. Ideally it would have been like the AFCGG / NFCCG / SB and been at 6:30. Then the Bills game could have been at 3

Sunday is a weekend, more people have Sunday off than MLK day.
Monday is not a weekend, and even with some folks having the day off, there's no way that the NFL would want a game at 1 pm.

The Bills stadium clearly would not be ready for a 1 pm game.

Today's accuweather forecast:

4 pm: SNOW
5 pm: SNOW
6 pm: SNOW

All with wind chill near 0.

Not sure how any of this is better.
Bills fans are never cold. They warm up in the parking lot by jumping on flaming tables and lighting themselves of fire. Good times...

X: Not that they needed it after a tough playoff loss to the #Lions, but the #Rams JUST landed from their flight from Detroit after plane issues and hours and hours of delays. Not ideal.

Poor babies with their multi million dollar salaries. OK, OK, guys on rookie contracts don't make that; average # years in the NFL is only 3+; what would fall and winter be without football...

I get the lions love because they've been historically terrible (i get it as a clipps fan) but one game doesnt change anything. The rams won a super bowl, they would make the goff trade again in a heartbeat.

Why not require that cold-weather teams have domed stadiums or if they can't get the stadium ready move it to a neutral site?
Because this is a rare event and even if there were a dome the problem would still exist for people to get there. It's not the end of the world to postpone a game for a day or two.

Buddy of mine is at the game and sent pics. Looks like the lots are plowed, and people have to dig out their seats inside. Aisles look clear. Sunny skies in the pics he sent.
