I voted "other," because I think either of Philly or Dallas work. I probably would've picked Buffalo if it had been an option.

I hope Atlanta or LAC. Those are teams towards which I have largely ambivalent feelings, so if/when BB breaks Shula's record I hope it is for one of them.

i been hard on the atl drum but 1 thing i did not factor is bill is not gonna let rich mckay run the falcons

the best thing for bill is takeing a year off and hopeing NYG opens up or buff because

like i have said LAC those owner are cheap
raiders davis is gonna lean toward pirece and or harbaugh had josh not took that job 2 years ago bill wouild be a slam dunk
titnts no shot
wash also no shot
car tepper makes jerry jones look like paul brown
ATL if blank keeps mckay and fotant their gm no shot for bill
and i know everyone says dallas philly
but will jerry let bill do his thing even if he does it only a 2-year marring at best and i think bill wants to beat shula by 40-50 wins
philly no gm powers so take them out

long story short if dallas says no bill might be in limbo for a year and might have to hope a team like denver goes 2-15 3-14 to get a 2025 shot bill was denver ST coach in 78

because i doubt NYG wouild hire bill and buffalo might not want him

It would bust Lane Johnson's balls if BB ended up in Philly, wouldn't it? ;)

Dallas would be most entertaining.
The Jerry Jones media appearances in-season after a loss to a division rival will be must-see. If BB isn't glowering on the Patriots sideline, I want him somewhere where he has both the best chance to win and also the highest probability of a dramatic flameout. There is only one place that meets both criteria and its at the alter of NFL football.

I definitely hope he runs down the record. After that, my vote is that he coaches a reborn Boston Breakers in the UFL. Go head to head with Nick Saban's Birmingham Stallions and Peter Caroll's Seattle Dragons.

Anywhere but Buffalo. And luckily that's looking less likely. Dallas would be entertaining. Total boom or bust. Atlanta would probably be my choice in his shoes.

I said other because it doesn't really matter much to me. I certainly don't begrudge him anything, and if Belichick has success and breaks Shula's record elsewhere, I will be happy for him. Unless it's the Jets....

He hates the Jets; he refused to go into their locker room on "The Two Bills" documentary.

He's not coaching the Jets.

I hope he ends up in Dallas, it will be great theater no matter how it turns out.

We don't agree on much but on this we are 100% simpatico. Either it works in Dallas and thats nice for Bill or it explodes and is tremendous content for the rest of us.

I vote for him to go somewhere warm and somewhere that he likes being. He’s on the back half of life and he’s done enough for my rooting interests that I’m happy rooting for his interests.

Dallas is my last choice. I think that he’d be least happy there.

Dallas would be the most interesting probably but.....

I'd like to see him in Atlanta, that defense has a lot of interesting pieces, so does the offense.

As one of the resident Dallas fans, BB ending there would be pretty fun. I don’t think he’d go there though if he knew it would suck for him.

The optimistic scenario I think goes like this:

BB just wants to coach at this point. Dallas is already somewhat loaded as a roster anyway. So with that, Jerry backs up the Brinks truck and tells BB “fix this defense schematically and bring out the best in our star QB in the playoffs” and I could see BB being up to that challenge.

Otherwise, my guess is he’d prob turn It down if he still wanted final say or veto power on personnel.

Dallas would be most entertaining.
Sometimes the easy answer is the right answer. I'll be sad to see him on another sideline but I want him to keep coaching anyways because I like him more than Don Shula. Dallas has a good roster for getting those 15 wins and would also cause First Take to eat itself alive. How can it be any other choice?

Dallas.

Team is ready and it’d be entertaining. Also want to see what BB can do with Parsons.

I’d hate to see Dallas be successful. I abhor Jurrah and the fans are the Yankees fans of the NFL, without the team success. Also the whole “America’s Team” shit drives me nuts.

I think Philly presents the best chance for success and while the fans are assholes, they’re kind like second cousins of Boston fans, so it’s hard to hate them. I’d also like BB to win one without Tom.

Don't want him anywhere near Dallas unless it's on the visitor's sideline. Philly I think is a great fit in theory and would be a good match for Bill's skillset, but we gotta see if that organization sees it the same way. I fear ATL is going to back up the Brinks truck.

Philly is my second favorite team due to a younger me loving Randall Cunningham and Reggie White. It would be great to see what BB does with that roster.

While Dallas would be entertaining, I can't bring myself to root for the Cowboys.

I hope he goes to Atlanta because they've never won, and I think that would be a cool story given he was part of their most crushing moment as a franchise. But Navy would be the coolest, purest finish to his career were his pursuit of Shula's record not an issue.

Atlanta is the oldest sporting franchise without a championship.

I think, so it would be a great storyline.

I really, really like and admire BB. I really, really loathe and despise Don Shula. So, anywhere he goes is alright by me as long as he overtakes that fraud. After the inevitable, I hope he goes to Navy and just coaches for the fun of it, in his Dad's shadow.

I would be STUNNED if BB goes to Navy. He wants that wins record. He's not getting it there.
I get the impression that BB has a lot of respect and love for the Naval Academy, but I'm not all that sure he would want to coach there. I think Bill very much likes coaching professionals

Plus, given that Navy doesn’t exactly cycle through coaches with great frequency (they have had three coaches in over 20 years, including the first year head coach this year), he would probably have to wrest the job from the incumbent….for what? A few years? I don’t see Bill doing that.

He's 72 years old (or will be in April). How much longer is he really going to coach? Two years? Three? Maybe, on the high end, four?

And not that I have the slightest inside knowledge, but my impression of Bill from watching him for the last 24 years is that given the choice between A) quietly coasting past Shula, and B) winning a Super Bowl without Brady, he's all in for option B. That's why he needs a situation where he can win a title in the short career window he has remaining. I also assume he'd want to do it with a team that hasn't won anything for a while, if ever.

That means Dallas.

Or Buffalo, if they crap out against KC once again next week, and finally rid themselves of McDermott.

I'll be disappointed if he winds up in Dallas or Philly or any place where he'll have a GM over him, because if he was amenable to that sort of situation, he just could have stayed with the Patriots.

And as far as stepping into a ready-made to win situation, the Patriots team he took over from Pete Carroll had gone 8-8 after starting 6-2, a team that could have been seen as a talented team that underachieved, and he effected a pretty significant teardown when he took over the team. The Eagles have a lot on nice pieces on offense, but the back seven of their defense is in shambles and will need a lot of work, and if Kelce is retiring, their offensive line goes from a strength to a question mark. Will Bill and Howie see eye to eye on how to proceed to remake these units?

Same with Dallas--they have stars on both sides of the ball, but do those stars fit what Bill wants to do? Parsons sure, but Gilmore is aging, and Diggs, when he comes back, has been a guy who makes big flashy plays but also gets burned to a cinder at times. I have no interest in delving into the intricacies of the NFL salary cap, but it's rarely a situation in which teams, especially teams laden with stars, can afford to run it back with the same players. Again, are Bill and the Joneses going to be on the same page when it comes to which of those players stay and which of them goes?

You all might be right, and he winds up taking the easiest path to getting the record, but I just don't see him as a hired gun looking to try to make the best of other people's solutions to the puzzle of assembling a championship team. This is a guy who dumped Bernie Kosar in favor of reclamation project Vinnie Testaverde, and who later dumped All-Pro Drew Bledsoe for, as great as he later became, at the time was a work in progress named Tom Brady. You can say, "But he would have a great QB in Jalen Hurts". and he might see a guy who can't handle a blitz. Or "he'll have a great QB in Dak", and he might see a guy who has repeatedly come up small in big moments in big games.

Honestly, if he signs on to either of those situations, to me it would be a sign that the Krafts were right to part ways with him now, because he's far from the man he used to be.

Atlanta would be a great landing spot. Pick 9 would probably get Penix Jr. Good start with lots of talent there

I really want to see him win another Super Bowl, so I view Dallas (and Buffalo and Philly) as the best option. Atlanta would be an incredible achievement and I think he’s capable of pulling it off, but I would rather see him go somewhere that the QB is in place.

Buffalo would suck from a Pats fan perspective because of the division getting harder, but I would honestly respect it from a sticking it to the Krafts perspective.

The difference, from what I read, is if you go somewhere with that setup, the foundation for that is already there and BB just slots into his role. In New England, since they don't have it, they'd have to build it, and that could take time.

more importantly, while Bill is a legend anywhere he goes, he's still slotting into the job. In NE, he's basically working with all the same people whose boss he was for a decade, much harder to re-arrange those lines and make it work.

Also I think it would have been completely unrealistic to expect someone to come into New England where Bill had been calling all of the shots for the better part of two decades and suddenly be the voice in the room that overrules him on draft day, or with respect to how to approach key free agents. I think that would have been pretty much impossible for anyone coming into that role. If he elects to go to a team where a GM is already in place the dynamic is completely different.

Edit: or what @Cellar-Door said.
