Every tournament, I'm reminded not to bet against Izzo, and by the next year I forget and pick them to lose in the first round again.
UNC is also playing some truly shitty basketball at the moment.. not sure how much it has to do with MSU at the moment. Hubert Davis needs to teach some of these guys in the low post how to play defense..and maybe take a charge once in a blue moon.

Edit: they have lost in the first or second round 5 of the last 7 tourneys...

Three previous seasons:

2021: lost in the first four play-in
2022: lost in the second round
2023: lost in the sweet 16

Not exactly a totally stellar record the past three years. One sweet 16 is all.

The four previous NCAA Tourney appearances:

2016: lost in first round
2017: lost in second round
2018: lost in second round
2019: lost in final four

So in Izzo's last seven tournaments, he's made one Final Four, two Sweet 16s, and been eliminated before the Sweet 16 four times.

It's not a terrible bet to bet against Izzo in the NCAA Tournament lately. Maybe they have a good run in them this year. Who knows.

Maybe you should stop taking threes if you haven't made one since the beginning of March.

About the worst start UNC could have had and they're down by one. Really hard to tell how good any college team is at the moment.

They let defenders really lean on the back of offensive players when they're driving.. felt like Bacot pushed the Mich St. player to cause that travel. Same thing happened in the Gonzaga game earlier where a defender leaned on the player to cause a travel.

I could have included more context—-I really didn’t think they would beat Mississippi state, although the SEC is proving to be not so good.

This is a pretty fun game. Carolina one and done. That is the story so far to me. Michigan State has the defensive glass locked down.

I really thought UNC was in big trouble the way they started and the way MSU started, but it totally switched in the last eight minutes of the first half.

Feel like college basketball now is even more about streaks.. It's always been about that to an extent, but now with how many players leave early it feels like games can change very quickly.

Carolina seemed to gain confidence and the one M.State player who was making threes just stopped making them. And then the rest of the team just got cold. Not sure how many players each team runs, but M.State's legs looked dead by the end. They couldn't hit anything towards the end of both halves.
