There are literally dozens of people at the park that I would not mind joinjng the broadcast. Tom Fucking Werner is not one of them. He should hang up the microphone and go throttle himself.

Watched the opening ceremony thing.

Did anything else happen with the players? They walked out from the outfield and then...that was it?

Yeah, Wakes daughter, who better be careful with the boys, threw out the first pitch.
Right - I saw that in the video.

But the team that was out there seemed like they were mostly ignored. Unless I missed something. They played the super long video, and then the first pitch...and then it ended.

Other than being there for Wake's kids, there wasn't a whole lot for them to do. My assumption is the celebration is going to go all year long and we'll see more ceremonies with more focus on the individual players.

Was a bit surprising. My guess is that maybe they wanted the pregame to be about Wake.
True, it was slightly anticlimactic, but I also am not sure how you honor 20-ish guys in a way that is comprehensive. But yeah it felt like a bit of an afterthought after the video.

I would have assumed just naming them one by one.

Position + Name or something. Give them all a moment to wave.

Even with the shortstop near the bag, I think that would have been a hit if it got through.

yes that's a perfect way of putting why he bugs me, just too "on" at all times it seems.
Add me to that list too. Sometimes it's a bit too much. I stopped watching Intentional Talk a couple years ago for that reason. I get that it's his schtick now and his moneymaker but it's annoying most of the time.

There are many people saying "Please keep Millar on TV."

They are listening on radio.

Schilling had a few memorable moments in the video tribute but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that will be the extent of his exposure this year.
