I don't have data to back this up, but I don't think it's adds a ton of value to win probability. Maybe Dom L or one of the analytic writers has done some work on it, I'll dig around. To me though, I think the lack of travel, comfort of being home, and crowd support are much more impact elements...

    Real Fantasy- Draft

Need a goalie. Probably could wait a bit longer, but we'll take Ilya Samsonov, G, Washington. Plus I was a big fan of Sammy Samsonov so I like the name. Gaudreau - Eichel - Stone DeBrusk - Dubois - Monahan Kaako - Schenn - Kase XXX - Bemstrom - XXX Heiskanen - Jones Girard - Shattenkirk...

I think it is probably baseball. I don’t think there is a ton gained in by having last change in hockey. Teams generally get the matchups they want regardless of last change. Mismatches typically come after icings.

    2020 Golf Thread

Seriously. I was playing a week ago and had a tin cup moment. The 10th hole at Trull Brook is a big valley. Elevated tee, then an steep uphill 2nd shot to the green. I had maybe 65 yards in from the fairway at the base of the hill. I chunked 4 consecutive shots that rolled back down to my feet...

Felger and Mazz - Creating False Naratives one day at a time

Saw this, though I haven't listed to them in forever. Just pure idiocy. In the one glimpse into Belichick in A Football Life, he spent time in a meeting admonishing the players for a lack of enthusiasm and encouraging the players to celebrate.

They'll probably have to move one of Johnsson, Kapanen, Kerfoot, Hyman before next season, whenever that is. Then they can lose another contract to Seattle in the expansion draft after next season (we're about a year away from that, kinda weird to think the Stanley Cup is supposed to be awarded...

The bigger news to me is the CBA. First time without a work stoppage in almost,30 years. And they pulled it off in the most uncertain of economic conditions. Canada makes sense as the Hubs, they’re doing a lot better job against the virus than we are.

June NHL News - we gonna play?

Doesn’t sound like we’ll get the hubs today. Some chatter that Vegas may be falling out of favor with the league. Today the rumor mill is hot on Toronto and Edmonton. View: https://twitter.com/frank_seravalli/status/1278073835305172992?s=21 I think they are also trying to do too much. In...

June NHL News - we gonna play?

Here’s a thread with some information on the players perspective. Basically, the financial ramifications are the only thing really being discussed on the union calls. A player Engels spoke with estimated that 75% of the players don’t rant to play but will vote yes, and that it’s unlikely anyone...

June NHL News - we gonna play?

The protocols and phased return to play plan was negotiated with the players, so I'm not sure they have much reason to be livid right now. Nervous/scared might be a better description. I am curious to see if any players opt-out like a handful of MLB and NBA players have. Opting out runs counter...
