Manfred: 16-team postseason likely to stay as “an overwhelming majority” of owners endorsed the concept before COVID

I remember that article and I agreed with it’s conclusions .. don’t let them step out .. if they do then the pitcher can deliver the pitch anyways. Batters will stop doing it when they see grooved fastballs for called strike three while they are adjusting their batting gloves.

So .. A few thoughts on the Chelsea game .. -Thiago appears to be as advertised .. class personified. He was playing as a six today and looked completely comfortable there.( I think he set the record for most completed passes in a half). Henderson had an excellent half and Thiago was actually...

Manfred: 16-team postseason likely to stay as “an overwhelming majority” of owners endorsed the concept before COVID

The baseball-reference is very illuminating. The last season with a 2:30 average game was 1978. It’s now up to 3:07 .. 37 minutes longer. So what accounts for this increased time ? Plate appearances per game you say ? All those extra runs means more batters per game? 1978: 75.7 2020: 74.1...

Or there was a question of whether the keeper would have got there first.. pretty obvious with VAR showing Kepa had stopped.

Interesting technique from the Fulham keeper on that Leeds penalty. Does an early and obvious fake to his right during the run up - then dives to his right .. so what was the point of this ? Seems To be overthinking it.

Wow .. what a strike from Leeds’ Costa .. that would have made Aguero prowd

DCL having the game of his life. You know when you’re having a good game when you completely miss a sitter on a corner .. whiffing on the header and it goes in off of your back. (Or so it looked to me on the replay)

    Liverpool 2020-2021: Jurgen's Heroes

Diego Jota from Wolves for £45m to be payed in yearly instalments. Similar to the Thiago deal in that the initial payment is only £5m in Thiago‘s case. To those wondering why they could afford Jota and not Werner .. the spin (and probably the truth) is that Werner’s buyout required the whole...

I like Jota .. he’d certainly be an improvement on Origi one would think .. although Sarr’s potential is intriguing (Not at £40m though)

Manfred: 16-team postseason likely to stay as “an overwhelming majority” of owners endorsed the concept before COVID

I despise the idea of 16 team playoffs .. we already have too many In anyways .. I’d get rid of the second wild card .. Why bother playing 162 games just to eliminate half the league ? I mean, they will do it as the owners think it will generate more revenue .. completely forgetting it...

So .. the long rumoured deal for Thiago Alcantara has finally happened https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-thiago-transfer-news-fsg-18948582 So .. there’s been no news on outgoings but one assumes Edwards has lined up deals for some of the midfield overflow...

So .. from a Chelsea point of view .. they got the three points in a game they played really poorly. One gift, one wonder goal/fluke and a deflection .. not something to be crowing about. if they play like this against Liverpool they’re going to get smoked.

First impressions for the new look Chelsea - Werner is really, reallly , I’m mean really fast .. - Havertz looks kind of lost - same old crappy defence This may take awhile for everyone to settle. Brighton have looked great so far and deserve to be ahead , and not behind . One really bad...

Congrats @SocrManiac as well .. great pic! Interesting choice of words from Klopp in his presser today referencing the Thiago rumours .. basically saying he can’t make the rumours go away .. well , of course he could .. simply by saying “ we are not signing Thiago” .. which he most certainly...

2020/21 Premier League Prediction Thread: It's That Time Again

1.Liverpool .. 17 points is a pretty big deficit for City to overcome. Not that I think Liverpool are as good as their record .. expect a bit of a drop off. 2..Man City -- see above - if they bring in Koulibaly then I think they don't lose a game and win in a walk 3. Chelsea - tons of offensive...

    Liverpool 2020-2021: Jurgen's Heroes

they’ve been reported as trying to sell a bunch of marginal players - Shaqiri, Grujic, Wilson , Origi and the like .. the problem seems to be they were hoping to get near 70m pounds for those guys .. but offers have not met expectations so far. Michael Edwards has been pretty astute for the past...

Watched the Blackpool friendly today .. was really, really impressed by the kid CB Billie Koumetico. There’s been quite a bit of hype about the 17 year old so far and I can see why .. the good .. his range of passing is superb .. pinging 40 yard passes around the pitch. He’s going to be very...
