La Liga 2020-2021: The year someone else breaks through?

Pretty good week for Sevilla. Still need to pass three teams, but they all just got a little bit closer. Battle for Europa League (Sociedad, Villareal, Betis) pretty interesting as is the fight to avoid relegation. Eibar need a miracle or two, but one point separates 16-18.

New Euro Super league to be announced Sunday

I think you're right. To me it was just such a short sighted, arrogant attempt to create a more predictable revenue stream for several reasons: 1. All clubs, not just big clubs, were hit hard by the pandemic. This attitude of "fixing" revenue to make it more predictable implies that only big...

La Liga 2020-2021: The year someone else breaks through?

After the shenanigans this week, I'm on board. They have a bunch of players I like to watch play- Kounde, Ocampos, Suso, Papu Gomez, Jordan, Rakitic. If they had a more consistent goal scorer, they'd be a legit threat.

New Euro Super league to be announced Sunday

This is just the perfect example of soccer leadership around the world. Literally the only thing they did right was make sure the money was lined up. Let's form a league! First step, let's meet behind closed doors so nobody can see what we are doing. What teams are in the league? We dunno How...

Americans Abroad, 2020-21: The Kids Are Alright

Speaking of Germany, there was some more Yank on Yank action as RB Leipzig was held to a 0-0 draw by Hoffenheim. Tyler Adams was just ok (aside from missing one of the best chances of the game, though it looked to get touched just before the ball got to him) but Chris Richards was fantastic...

New Euro Super league to be announced Sunday

There is a decent chance PSG could miss UCL next year too (unless they win the whole thing of course). Assuming a Lyon win, PSG would only be 2 points clear of 4th. Top 2 in France are auto-qualifiers for the Champions League group stage, 3rd has to play in. Of course, they're also 1 point out...

Americans Abroad, 2020-21: The Kids Are Alright

He's had a few different roles for Juve, but when they are at their best, this is kinda where he is often. He does play CM/#8, but is constantly making forward runs to stretch the field. It opens up a lot of space behind him, and he often is the furthest player up the field for Juventus. The end...

To cap off a nice weekend, McKennie comes off the bench to score. View: https://twitter.com/si_soccer/status/1381263398411862016

La Liga 2020-2021: The year someone else breaks through?

Nice to have some actual soccer to look forward to. There are a couple of added layers to this Clasico, specifically around how RM play with this game being sandwiched between the 'Pool matches. Does Zidane rest Modric or try to limit his running? Does he changed much tactically? As a Barca...

La Liga 2020-2021: The year someone else breaks through?

He could very well have not said anything racist at all, we don't know. I highly doubt it as "leave me in peace" as he claims though. Seems like the mics didn't catch anything one way or another. I do criticize Cala's statement that Diakhaby might have just "made it up". It looks like Cadiz is...

La Liga 2020-2021: The year someone else breaks through?

We should be talking about a super tight race (assuming a Barca victory tomorrow), El Clasico next week, heck even a little controversy in the Sevilla win today over Atleti. Instead the talk will be about Valencia-Cadiz. ICYMI, Valencia defender Mouctar Diakhaby walked off the pitch along with...

Heck of a win by Sevilla. Barcelona can get to within a point of Atleti with a win tomorrow.

Oblak with a HUGE PK save for Atletico in a HUGE game for them against Sevilla (who are really up for it). Anything short of a win for Ateltico will really make the masses shout Hay Liga

    Gameweek 30

Cadiz-Valencia game on hold due to comment made by Cadiz player Juan Cala to Diakhaby of Valencia. Daikhaby went after Cala then left the field, clearly furious. Potentially a racist comment and Valencia has just returned to the field. Referee heard nothing. Just a shame.

    USMNT: Hold My Beer

Another option, and not necessarily one that I endorse, is 3-4-3 with Adams as part of the back three. RBL did that a few times (once with Adams as the CB?!?!). Richards and Brooks both play in primarily 3 at the back systems now. I don't see how the rest of the pieces fit though. At full...

    Formula 1 - 2021 - Chasing down Lewis?

Just to build on what's already been said: I found it most fun to have a few drivers or teams to pull for. Have some in the midfield because honestly, that's where you're more likely to have some action during the race. Last year, the Mercedes car was so much better, and if you only care about...

La Liga 2020-2021: The year someone else breaks through?

I'll let Zoso answer on his own, but I'll say a resounding yes, I do feel that way given how awful Barca looked through much of the season. Not just the results, the actual gameplay. Since the switch to a 3-5-2, looks like a completely different team out there.

    USMNT: Hold My Beer

I think most people have been assuming that we are looking at CP and Reyna on the outside and Musah in the middle with McKennie and Adams in a 4-3-3. Musah has been playing RW (when he plays) with Valencia but has stated his preference to play CM. So there is room for them all. I'm not too...

FC Barcelona 2020-2021: The Return of House Oranje

Probably better suited for another, but I would be shocked if Koeman is around next season. Under more normal circumstances, maybe the switch to a 3-5-2 and the reality of the likely limitations on a squad overhaul this summer because of the club's finances would be enough to save him. Clearly...
