The Michael McCorkle "Mac" Jones Thread

That's the understatement of the century and what made all the talking heads kill them for not taking Sewell. It didn't help that the coach was Jim Turner (he of Bullygate fame). There are hundreds of position coaches in the league and he very well might've been the worst. The Bengals' OL this...

The Michael McCorkle "Mac" Jones Thread

I hate to say it because he's a franchise legend and would've been in the HOF before his injuries, but Green was probably the worst receiver in football last year and they gave him over 100 targets. He's rebounded to be acceptable in Arizona as it was a combination of still not being over the...

4th and 20 is pretty low-percentage but what, uhh, is the point of that?

My bad - I thought LAR-GB was on NBC for some reason. It's also weird that they only get one game each of the first two rounds this year.

How does FOX only get one WC and one divisional game two years in a row?

Gee, I wonder why Rodgers has only been to one SB despite a rating over 100 in the playoffs.

Assuming SF and KC win, this is my guess at next week's schedule: Saturday 4:30: CIN-TEN Saturday 8:15: SF-GB Sunday 3: ARI/LAR-TB Sunday 6:30: BUF-KC

Clark Harris hasn't had a single bad snap in his 13-year Bengals career. When are people going to start putting respect on his name?

The previous guy went 36-28 with two playoff appearances in four years. The guy before him still had a better winning percentage than Patricia despite taking over an 0-16 team.

Peyton didn't fully become a corpse until 2015, after Fox was fired. I guess it started down the stretch in 2014 - his last six games including the playoff game were pretty bad. He was vintage Peyton the first 2.5 years and broke a bunch of records in 2013. Fox did win a playoff game his first...

New 2022 NFL Coaches ... POLL

They won the two games after the Gruden firing and had the point differential of a 7-10 team. This is, to quote one Dick LeBeau, the height of folly.

    2021 MVP watch

Well, we've seen a decent amount of the Packers without Rodgers the last decade and it looks a lot like the Cavs without LeBron (before this year at least). Fournette was a #4 overall pick who had almost 1700 yards from scrimmage for the Jaguars the year before joining the Bucs. He finished...

    2021 MVP watch

Evans played 16 games, Fournette and Godwin 14, Gronk 12 and Brown 7. Who got more games of better skill talent than that - maybe Burrow? It's certainly better than 16 games of Adams, a couple good running backs and a bunch of random dudes. Brady's (very good) OL also started 84 of a possible 85...

    Pats defense: Ongoing discussion

I didn’t see that before so I did the math and it comes out to 5.64. 124203 yards + 16800 TD yards - 19800 INT yards - 8597 sack yards = 112606 adjusted net yards/19956 dropbacks = 5.64. I guess they’re just using the average of each team but that’s quite the difference.

    Pats defense: Ongoing discussion

The league ANY/A (which accounts for TDs as well as INTs) was 5.64. The NY/A (which is just yardage and sack yardage) was 6.2. So the Pats' pass D was still really good but it was only about 1.15 yards better than average, not 1.6.

    2021 MVP watch

I prefer ANY/A because it’s not subjective (PFF, QBR) or a black box (DVOA). The Bucs averaged .05 more points per drive. I’m pretty sure if you took away the game and a half Love played (24 total points) and gave Rodgers the second half yesterday the Packers would be ahead. And while Brady...

    2021 MVP watch

League ANY/A was 5.64. Brady dropped back 741 times which would expect to yield 4179 adjusted net yards. He had 5492 (based on the formula of yards + 20 per TD - 45 per INT - sack yards) for 1313 above expected. Rodgers dropped back 561 times which would expect to yield 3164. He had 4487 for...
