    3/5 vs. Knicks

yes--and less Smart. Looked like Jaylen sustained some contact right at end of half after missed FT--either way, great finish to half.

    3/3 Nets @ Celtics

yep, last night was sickening. I guess we can hope it's a wakeup call. They've had similar low-effort games against weaker opponents, but none as disastrous as this one. I'm sure they're embarrassed and maybe that pays some dividends in terms of making sure effort is consistently there, but...

    3/3 Nets @ Celtics

Glad to see D. White is not on injury report--was worried about how he reacted in 4th quarter after a collision (if I remember correctly), then seemed unable to move normally, was standing around on offense and had to come out of game. In fact, no one is on injury report other than Gallinari...

    What does 2023 look like?

stuff happens. this is why it's good to have more than 5 potential starters.

2/14 Another O/U of 1.5 on regular starters

2/14 Another O/U of 1.5 on regular starters

they fought like hell and had a real chance to win. pretty amazing under the circumstances. Kornet only played 2 minutes so presumably he is pretty fresh for tonight. Pritchard played just 14. Everyone else except TL, (who I assume won't play tonight) went hard (and also assuming Brogdon...

2/14 Another O/U of 1.5 on regular starters

yeah, obviously not a favorable matchup for the Celtics. Hope they somehow keep it close, maybe get Giannis in foul trouble (though not sure how)? Long shot tonight, to be sure--with a back to back tomorrow to factor in

2/14 Another O/U of 1.5 on regular starters

yeah, Giannis is always a unique challenge, and even harder when shorthanded. Use fouls wisely, I guess...he can struggle from the line (but, of course, having guys in foul trouble/fouling out even more stressful when shorthanded). Grant Williams gave Giannis trouble during playoffs last...

2/14 Another O/U of 1.5 on regular starters

assuming that everyone listed on the injury report other than Brogdon is out, perhaps a starting lineup of White, Pritchard, Hauser, Horford, Griffin? I hope Brogdon can play, but with achilles soreness, likely limited minutes at best. Even with Brogdon playing that probably leaves 60 minutes...

    1/28 vs LAL

yep, NBA games can be very frustrating for this reason. I guess one takeaway is try to avoid close games (?!)

    1/28 vs LAL

plus some iffy calls that put Jaylen in foul trouble. Obviously, LeBron situation is dramatic bc right at end of game, but you're right that it doesn't mean other calls/non-calls can be ignored.

    1/28 vs LAL

did the Celtics get cheated when Time Lord was fouled at end of regulation v. Knicks? maybe the foul on LeBron was worse--I've sure seen a lot more replays of the LeBron non-call than the TL non-call.

1/21/23 Celtics @ Raptors: Boston's Ford Hit the First Trey, Toronto's Ford Hit the Bad Yay

I don't really understand how Toronto is sub .500. Their starting 5 looks quite solid. well, beat them anyways-Torment Toronto. also, great thread title. Also, one of their solid-looking starters--VanVleet--is out: View: https://twitter.com/KeithSmithNBA/status/1616911082190245894

    2023 Sox Stat Projections...

agreed on SS/MI situation. what do you think lineups will look like (assuming--which I hope is not the case--that Sox don't add to MI)?

    2023 Sox Stat Projections...

well, I'd be happy with these results--especially for hitters. Of course, health figures into this in ways we can't anticipate. Why the 2.31 ERA for Jansen? I'd love it, but seems better than I would have expected. Any thoughts on 2nd catcher (or maybe 3rd if both Wong and Alfaro get time)...

    2023 Sox Stat Projections...

no snow at all here in DC, but I hear you on winter being long, especially when it comes to baseball. how'd you come up with the projections? you say off the top of your head--any way to elaborate further on that?

Sox Sign OF Adam Duvall to 1 year deal

yes--they were missing RH power. Duvall could provide that--perhaps even against RHP (in 2021 he had a reverse split and hit 32 HR v. righties). All speculative, of course--and depends on how things shake out, but lineups could look like this: against RHP Yoshida LF Turner DH Devers 3B...

    1/11/2023 Celts host Bobcats

this cracked me up. Hope TimeLord and Smart both rest up and the other Celtics don't cheesedick anything away.
