Red Sox Rumors - Just Kidding

I think this is a great point and an important factor that should be strongly considered. I remember hearing about how much work he did with Mookie back when there was still sunshine in our worlds, and I just came across this article...

Red Sox Rumors - Just Kidding

Sale was extended in 2019, after we had won and before he hit FA

What are your best offers to Devers and Bogaerts?

My offer would be Devers to LA or NYM for the best batch of prospects he can fetch.

Devers : No talks after season begins (Speier report)

Really tough to answer without knowing what other moves are looming this offseason, but as it stands you have to really consider trading him sooner rather than later. In this market, it would likely take something outlandish for him to sign before free agency, and I just don't see the Sox going...

X Leaves the Spot for San Diego: 11 years, $280M

I really like this idea, but don't see why Correa has to take it given the current market. It would probably have to be something like 4/200 with opt outs. Frankly I still like it - bridges the gap to Mayer and doesn't doom us for a decade if he goes south. We're over the LT anyway, so why not?

Red Sox Rumors - Just Kidding

Agree with all of this, but I'm afraid it's a phenomenon that's not unique to the Boston fanbase. I live in NJ, and the crying of MFY fans these past few years has been completely off the charts. Maybe "crying" doesn't fully capture it - it's more of a sensitivity to swings, both high and low...

Red Sox Rumors - Just Kidding

Does it? Assuming the contract isn't something totally unconventional, it sounds like a solid value if Turner landed 11/300 with a full NT clause. The talk has been that X would land a contract in roughly the 8 year range - I'd take him all day at 8/200 with the market being what it is.

Red Sox Rumors - Just Kidding

If this is accurate, then I think X is a steal at that price. I get Turner being more desirable/valued, but tough to see him as 50% more valuable.

Red Sox Rumors - Just Kidding

I'm sure this has been covered somewhere, but is Benny totally off of the Sox' radar? Seems like an affordable high floor OF

Red Sox Rumors - Just Kidding

I get that they have a top farm system and all, but it would be surprising to see him pass on the bigger market/more currently competitive teams to essentially play in Siberia.

Red Sox Rumors - Just Kidding

I just can't imagine him going for that much lower than Turner at this point. Feels like 8/240ish is where he'll end up - still plenty of teams in the SS market.

Xander Bogaerts has opted out of his contract

Where would he play in NY? Seems they have more infielders than they need already, and their top prospect is an SS whose being heralded as the second coming.

    Red Sox Trade Deadline 2022

LA just moved Jake Lamb - possible landing spot for JD now?

    Red Sox Trade Deadline 2022

Hosmer has an OPS+ of 112 this year, and is a former gold glover - picking him up at minimal cost sounds like a nice little score

    Red Sox Trade Deadline 2022

Early reports saying SD picking up most of Hosmer's remaining salary. Would have preferred the prospect given our financial flexibility, but not much to dislike given our woes at 1b

??? Way to get younger. At least he doesn't seem like a total a-hole. Oh, wait...

    Only God Can Judge Judge

Agreed. That seems like an extremely competitive deal to pass on at this point in his career. I'm wondering what the market comps are for big ticket OFs - Springer is at 6/150, Harper was 13/330, but was a few years younger when he signed. I'd also think there must be a ton more ancillary...

    Only God Can Judge Judge

Wow. So like 7/225? He's a great player and all, and I get that he's beloved by the fanbase, but that sounds like an extremely competitive deal for him to pass on. Is he really looking to get paid through age 40?
