Your top "forgot he was a Red Sox"

I didn’t know about David Ross’ first stint until his second one started.

A’s have signed a binding agreement to purchase land for a future ballpark in Las Vegas.

This is a pretty sad day for baseball. Shitty owner kills storied franchise for a new stadium in Vegas. One of the great teams in the 70’s and ushered in a new era of baseball in the early 2000s.

    2023 World Baseball Classic

Ultimately it won’t matter in 4 years, but if the World Baseball Classic was played again next year it would look a lot different after the Mets $102 million relief ace just suffered a probable season ending celebration injury.

    2023 World Baseball Classic

Pretty unimportant but does anyone know the history of players wearing different/lower numbers in Olympics/World Tourneys? Betts usually wears 50, he’s wearing 3. I believe Griffey wore 3 for Team USA. Michael Jordan wore 9 for the US team, Bird wore 7, etc.

Mata is gonna be a very valuable member of this team this year I think. Love him.

    Tim McCarver has passed away

Even though his decline as an announcer is noted if you were hearing his voice the moment felt huge. People like to rag on announcers like Joe Morgan or McCarver or Joe Buck but there’s something awesome and nostalgic about watching an old game, even just a regular season Sunday Night or...

Mayer won’t cruise in due to injuries and a forced move to first changing the perception of him but he should. 5th all time in peak score JAWS for catchers, 7th overall, and hit .323/.405/.469 from 2004-2013 with an MVP and three batting titles.

Henry & Bloom booed at Winter Weekend

Yaz literally had no choice but to play for the Red Sox

Henry & Bloom booed at Winter Weekend

I know Mookie Betts is awesome. I don’t care about batting average, and he is an extremely productive all around player. Having said that, I’m sure that this fan base would be extremely rationale about paying him $40 million dollars a year to hit around .270 with power and great defense to...

Red Sox extend Devers—11 years, $332 million

$75 million deferred, $7.5 million per year from 2034-2043.

Red Sox extend Devers—11 years, $332 million

That’s fine and so I will but bWAR is only one stat and it isn’t meant to be predictive.

Red Sox extend Devers—11 years, $332 million

Right he’s a nice player and the original comparison was made by someone just about their ages, then someone started talking about their prime years. I’m just saying I doubt the Red Sox really care how much either player make and wouldn’t want find out whether Peña is Adam Everett or Jose...

Red Sox extend Devers—11 years, $332 million

One benefit for Boston is that when Devers was 20 he was in the Majors to stay for dirt cheap and Peña was slugging .309 in Low A. This year in the Majors his OBP was .289.

Red Sox extend Devers—11 years, $332 million

Even better than if the 11 years includes this coming year. They always get this shit wrong to be first.

Red Sox extend Devers—11 years, $332 million

It doesn’t matter. The signing bonus will be paid out however they agree on, and then the yearly cash amounts. But for purpose of I forget if it’s $17.5 this year (his arb contract) and then 11/332 or if it is 12/349.5

No arb hearing for Devers, 2023 salary is set

I wasn’t excluding 2022. Judge’s 2022 was the entire point of my post. I wouldn’t do 315/9 for Devers —> Devers is a 4-5 win player , not 6 or 7 or 8 or 9 or 15 or any number you want to use Yankees offered Judge 230/8 —> he bet on himself and THEN has an 11.5 win season to get his $360...

No arb hearing for Devers, 2023 salary is set

Maybe I should have quoted the specific post but they said the best case for the Sox right now is 315/9. That’s 35 AAV. The Yankees offered Judge a total, in addition to his 2022 salary, $230m/8. The 9 win season you mention was a 11.5 win season where he set the American League record for home...

No arb hearing for Devers, 2023 salary is set

Mookie and Ohtani had MVP’s. I know people are pissed about Betts and Bogaerts and the seeming lack of a plan in replacing these players but Devers isn’t in the Trout Mookie Ohtani class. He’s basically a 5 win player that people want to pay like a 7-9 win player that come less than you think...

    2023 Hall of Fame ballot

Obviously Bonds should be in. You guys are missing the boat on Trammell though. He’s basically Larkin, or Jeter without NY and loads of postseason fame.
