    Could Whitlock be the opener + Pivetta? He goes 2-4 innings then turns it over to Pivetta? I haven't seen the numbers on Whitlock's first go through a lineup vs his second look.

    Is Keuchel a consideration? Great numbers in AAA, especially the ground ball rate. Not sure if he is a trade off from what we presently have, or that another roster move is prudent with th possibility of 3 coming back.

    I am hoping Bloom does not pay a high price (future) for a rental that gets us to the second round of the playoffs. This team is many pieces away from a championship caliber team, and using some of the pieces we need for that to get one more win in this years playoff would be unwise.

    I was thinking he may be part of a package somewhere. He actually put up pretty decent numbers in AAA last year and he's not a FA until 2029, so a team can be very patient if needed. He would definitely be a decent part of a package IMO.

    He played mostly 2nd base in college and his early years in the minors before they switched him to the outfield... so it is not out of the question to see what he can do in the infield.

    If Duvall is actually signed...who gets DFA? I'm on board with many of you... why give up pieces that can help us in 3-5 years for pieces that will help us still not make the playoffs until then? I would rather use Houke and other more valuable pieces for guys that will help us down the road...

    It's a minor league deal... I'm sure he will be fine coming up on a 10 day DL stint by one of our catchers.... if he ends up starting then we may have some problems. As it stands, it's a good signing.

    Don't we another roster move to make before the Kluber signing is official? Signing Andrus would be fine, but it would then be 2 roster moves. Not that I am opposed, but the trade might be the option they are looking at.

    I would be fine with Andrus or Iglesias.... but it creates the problem of the 40 man with 3 guys that would have to come off. That's why I was thinking a trade of someone (s) that come off the 40 in order to create the space needed for Turner, Kluber and whomever they trade for.
