MLB's long road to incorporating Negro League statistics

Good question. I can think of a couple of sticking points; Negro League data is still incomplete, a work in progress and will certainly change over time. MLB is not uncovering new games and data, Gary Ashwill is doing that research. How would MLB deal with the numbers changing every few months...

The greatest team in Boston sports history?

I read the title and immediately thought '85-'86 Celtics. No question. Just a great team that could seemingly do whatever it wanted on the court.

Build an All-Star team with just your initials

Took a deeper dive into the MM team. Might be fun to run some of these through a season or two of OOTP.

Greatest not famous athlete you ever saw

I went to high school and ran track with this guy, who cleared 7'+ in the high jump as a high school senior (set an all New England high school record at the time). When other kids were doing their warmup jumps at 5' or so, he'd just hurdle that; run straight at the bar and bound over it. Or...

    Like Father, Like Son?

Yeah, I wouldn't get too far ahead of yourself trying to figure out Giselle's feelings. She comes from a culture that has very different views on sex, prostitution and infidelity than we do up here. Brazil had a president who showed up at Carnival with an under-wearless call girl a while back...

    Tom Brady: Support and Bankability

I’ve been to that part of Brazil many times. My wife grew up there in ex-pat family. Her dad is American, mom is German, so we had a lot of access to the local German communities. Germans started settling there around the same time that they were settling our Midwest- but the assimilation...

    Replacing my iPod Classic

You can get what looks like a higher quality one here: https://www.iflash.xyz/ The rest are pretty much all the same. That site has some good info for this kind of a project. They have other adapters as well, so you could do this with micro SD, etc.

    Replacing my iPod Classic

The thicker 5.5 (80gb model) will fit the 3000 mah battery without you having to move stuff. It's a tight fit, the battery has about the same dimensions as the back of the case, and you'll stack that on top of the HD, making a tight fit height-wise, but it works. What you are describing is...

    Replacing my iPod Classic

I'd recommend finding an old 5.5 model on eBay if you're doing this from scratch. They're thicker, which buys you space for the 3000 mah battery, and the DAC chip on them is supposed to be the best version Apple produced.

    Replacing my iPod Classic

Take a look around about battery size for a 7. You may need a 2000 mah due to size constraints. Other than that, it's not that hard.

    Replacing my iPod Classic

It will look exactly the same. What model? There is a limit to how many songs you can store before you need to use something other than iTunes/Apple OS to manage your songs on the device. It's variable depending on your song metadata, and somewhere around 50K songs. The software has a built in...

    Replacing my iPod Classic

And you will want the new battery. The good news is you can really upgrade- beyond what the SSD will consume- really cheaply. I got a 3000 mAh battery (up from 550) for $12. Thing lasts forever.

    Replacing my iPod Classic

Or you can just rebuild the harddrive and upgrade it to an SSD. The zif card and new battery cost almost nothing, but the HD can run you a few dollars. I have a 500GB classic and am working on a 1TB, for no other reason than "because I can"

Protecting the Shields -- The Nick Cafardo Thread

Thanks JMOH. I was a frequent critic early in the days of this thread, but at some point, I realized that I was still getting the Globe mostly for the sports section, but the content just wan't enough to make it worthwhile for me anymore. And I just gave up. I stopped getting it delivered during...

One Season or Fewer, Your LEAST Favorite Red Sox
