How worried are you about Celtics closing this out?

5 times Boston has been blown out by 15 or more this years. 3 times in the regular season and twice in the playoffs which includes Game 4. Every time they have been blown out they have won the following game. I like their chances in Game 5 based on how they have responded to embarrassing losses...

How worried are you about Celtics closing this out?

Absolutely agree huge blowouts are more common today and i will say everyone thought the Lakers after blowing out Boston in Game 3 in 1984 that they were winning the series and everyone thought after Boston blew out Los Angeles in game 1 in 1985 they were winning the series. One game means...

How worried are you about Celtics closing this out?

Out of that list the only shock sweep was the 1983 Sixers over the Lakers as that was basically a prime Lakers team coming off the 82 title while the 89 team was kinda washed and hurt and were lucky to have repeated as champions in 1988. They probably should have been swept again in 1991 by...

How worried are you about Celtics closing this out?

Look back at two series that had massive blowout games 1984 NBA Finals Game 3 - Boston losses by 33 points to go down 2-1 in the series. They rally to win in 7 games 1985 NBA Finals Game 1 - Los Angeles gets blown out by 34 points on Memorial Day and they rally to win the series in 6 games...

How worried are you about Celtics closing this out?

Not at all. Sweeps aren't supposed to happen in the finals of sports. Last hockey one was 1998. And its only happened 9 times in the NBA Finals. Its supposed to be hard.

How worried are you about Celtics closing this out?

Not concerned. It’s not easy to sweep an NBA finals as it’s only happened 9 times for a reason. It’s suppose to be the toughest matchup. Guys like Bird, Magic, Jordan, Lebron never swept a finals. Hell Jordan went up 3-0 in the 96 finals and that series went to 6 games.

They should be shooting a lot higher than Hartenstein if they want to win the west. Presti shouldn't be hoarding assets for much longer.

    6/12 - Finals Game 3 @ DAL – Five Wear Green

Ya I meant All-NBA in the same year. I knew that Kareem fouled out of Game 4 in 1984.

    National Celtics discourse

What sucks is that they could have had 4 more wins against teams they should have beaten in Charlotte, Cleveland, Atlanta on that mini 2 game series in Atlanta. Flip those to 4 wins and the narrative might change to an all time top 5-10 team.

    How will Celtics/Mavs Series Finish?

5 is probably right but if they take Game 3 I think they are probably going to be the 10th team to do it. There have been only 9 sweeps in finals history for a reason. It shouldn't be easy.

    2023-2024 General NBA Season Thread

The Lakers situation is one of the worst in the NBA. They aren't even be close to being a contender, they have zero assets of any kind and they are a franchise being held hostage by Lebron James. Its a team that really should blow the entire thing up because they are going to be stuck in mud for...

2024-25 UConn Men's Hoops: Defending the Throne Again

Lakers job made zero sense. It’s a job in name only. The team isn’t a contender and has barely any assets going forward in a western conference that’s getting younger and better.

    NBA Finals: Celtics vs Mavs

I wasn’t that impressed with their path. The Clippers are a notorious postseason failure and that was predictable no matter if Leonard was healthy or not. Both OKC and Minnesota are in the knocking stage which is what NBA teams notoriously have to go through before they can become champions.

    NBA Finals: Celtics vs Mavs

Luka had a triple double of 37 points 12 rebounds 11 assists in his last game against Boston and the Celtics won by 28 points. They limited Kyrie to 19 points and under 40% from the field. The fact is you don’t want Dallas doing what they did last night with Luka and Kyrie. It’s a lot easier for...

    NBA Finals: Celtics vs Mavs

The key to this series is shutting down Kyrie. Luka is going get his. If you can really limit Kyrie to pretty much under 20 a game as well as his play making ability it will turn Luka into his previous version which was a great stat padder on an average team.

    2020-23 College Hockey thread

Went to Matthews this past season. One of my favorites in college hockey. I think it’s a good bet that with the lack of land with the current footprint that they will have to have balcony seating again. I wonder if they can make a modern type replica of Matthews with modern amenities.

Western Conference Finals: Minnesota Timberwolves (3) vs Dallas Mavericks (5)

And one of the losses in that 24-9 stretch was a 28 point loss to the Celtics despite Doncic having a triple double.
