Carry on my Hayward Son: Gordon to Charlotte for 4 years, $120M

Reading the article, there definitely seemed to be a lack of self-awareness. I don't mean to dump on the guy too much, but he also came off as a little self-centered (which I'm sure is the case for 90+% of NBA basketball players). But just talking about how he achieved a goal of scoring a bunch...

Miami Game Goat (Mayo and who Else?)

Depends what you mean by lower. I don't think the 5th overall pick gets them much. I don't think trading their FRP for a couple of 2nds is going to help. This team needs two FRPs as a start.

Miami Game Goat (Mayo and who Else?)

The big risk of being a tanking team is that you impact the culture and you become a bunch of losers who are sniping at their teammates and making silly mistakes that cost you games. Keeping most of the coaching staff and resigning a lot of their own veterans this offseason was supposed to...

Are the Pats the worst team in the NFL?

Why would the play/formation result in the Pats having 12 men on the field?

Are the Pats the worst team in the NFL?

Anyone else remember this play? Colts Fourth-Down Trick Play Goes Horribly Wrong (Week 6) | Patriots vs. Colts I don't know exactly what the intended plan was, because they sort of mishandled the snap and the Patriots tackled them for a loss easily. But, it sure was strange looking.

Are the Pats the worst team in the NFL?

Anyone else remember that Pats game against the Colts where they had basically two players by the ball (not sure if it was actually the center or somebody else), and then everybody else was spread either way out to the left or right? I don't know exactly what the intended plan was, because they...

Are the Pats the worst team in the NFL?

Unfortunately for our draft pick, Sly looks like a big upgrade over Ryland. Also, I don't think Brissett has the ability to singlehandedly lose games the way Mac Jones did. Brissett isn't going to win us any games, but he's not going to come out and throw 3 INTs in a game, either. I see the Pats...

Back up QBs, why are they so bad?

Isn't what what college football is? Outside of baseball and hockey (I think, but I'm not a hockey fan). I don't think any sports do it well. I think the other issue is that football players have very short shelf lives. Someone spending 2-3 years in a minor league football would be injured and...

Are the Pats the worst team in the NFL?

In the NFL, I assume you are required to have 5 OL, right? If this was a Gil Thorp strip, they'd come out with some totally innovative formation with 8 WRs and just forget trying to pass block at all.

Carry on my Hayward Son: Gordon to Charlotte for 4 years, $120M

An interesting read in the Athletic: Gordon Hayward in his own words: On retirement, injuries, Celtics championship and more Some interesting quotes: "That was probably the hardest season of my career. That was the season we were the most stacked on paper, but everyone had so many individual...

Are the Pats the worst team in the NFL?

There are only so many people that are large enough to be OL. Are those prospects being recruited to other positions for some reason?

    Ricky Pearsall reportedly shot

There’s some video out now. It’s from a distance, but looks like he got hit pretty square in the chest (right side). So, it must have gone through his lung.

    Ricky Pearsall reportedly shot

Obviously a lot of details missing, but it would be amazing that a bullet could go through your lung without causing significant damage. As you said, most likely just was the edge of his chest outside the rib cage. Even then, doesn’t seem like there’s a lot of space there for anyone who is lean.

    Ricky Pearsall reportedly shot

Amazing that a bullet can go through your chest without hitting any organs. Pretty darn lucky (aside from getting shot, or course)

    Projecting the 53

I saw an article about Cole Strange potentially coming back as a Center once he (hopefully) recovers from his injuries. As I don't know much about OL: 1) How valuable is a Center compared to a Guard? 2) Other than, obviously, snapping the ball - how does a Center typically differ from a Guard...

Wyc ownership group planning to make Celtics available for sale

I fully agree that the Celtics’ price is a reference for the expansion teams, but it seems crazy to me that an expansion team would have a price close to the Celtics. The Celtics are one of the flagship franchises in the NBA. Lakers, Knicks, Celtics, those teams seem a lot more valuable than...

Celtics Offseason 2024 - Wake Me Up When September Ends

What’s a good comp for Jaylen Brown that we can look at in terms of longevity? Putting injuries aside, for someone who is such an elite athlete, even by NBA standards, as Jaylen - how long should we expect him to be a top 15-25 player?

Yabusele can dream of playing in France

The good news is that Embiid is looking more and more like a non MVP candidate but I do feel like Philly picked up a lot of players this offseason

Celtics Offseason 2024 - Wake Me Up When September Ends

The only thing I really care about is that Tatum wasted time in Paris he could have been muscling up and continuing to work on his game. At the end of the day, I guess it was just a few weeks - so probably NBD - but he had a short offseason as it is.
