    Sports Cards Mania

Yeah, I saw something that seemed to indicate a digital card. I've never known about them and wasn't able to find any other Topps Departures. Maybe the Cubs paid Topps to provide a printed version to give to their season ticket holders.

Stand Up If You Love the Darts

Once, I was throwing in a Cricket game with someone. He went first and threw a triple-20, t-19, t-18. I followed with the same. He then went t-17, t-16, t-15. I followed with the same and never got another shot in the game as he then hit double-cork, cork. (for those not familiar with Cricket...

There was no number on the card and the only thing printed on the back was the card was "Season Ticket Holder." Lester was granted Free Agency on 30 October 2014 and signed with the Cubs on 15 December. I found this site: https://www.baseballcardpedia.com/index.php/Main_Page that seems to be a...

Alex Bregman and Adding a Bat

No one here knows how Devers would react to being pulled out of being a position player. Would he rejoice at no longer having to play third base or would he be offended at losing it after the work he put in trying to better himself at that role?

Alex Bregman and Adding a Bat

No. Wait and see if the touted prospects in the system actually will deliver, how Abreu and Casas do. In order to have a realistic chance of bringing a title in 2025. they need to add more than Bregman to this off-season moves.

    How old are you?

I mentioned my first game at Fenway earlier in this thread. What I forgot to say was it was from a box seat, third row, directly behind home plate, and I at there with my glove on my hand watching foul balls hit the netting above my head until I realized that was useless and read the scorecard...

    How old are you?

I grew up in a very small town in central NH, listening to most games on radio but we did get a tv in the summer of 1950. I saw my first game at Fenway in 1952, Yankee Stadium a year or two later and Cleveland about 1955 As an adult, I joined SABR and went to the national conventions, then in...

    MLB and military veterans

A long time friend of mine from Chicago just told me that Cook County has a program that allows vets to attend White Sox weekday games for free. A quick Google search indicates that some other clubs have similar programs and that MLB offers discounts for vets like reduced pricing on MLB items...

    Grade the Crochet Trade

He'll be turning 26 in June. I wouldn't call him "so young" unless you're only considering that he has only been a starter for one season.

If the Red Sox had realized they had almost no chance of acquiring Soto and concentrated instead on improving areas of the team that really need improving, they might have gotten somewhere.

Boston’s taxing pursuit of Juan Soto is over. (Mets)

So, Soto would add three wins in a season? Would his desired yearly salary be worth those extra three wins...81-81 to 84-78 team record?
