    3/30 - The Road Trip: Game 3

Polanco is a switch-hitter but has always been much worse vs. Ls. So it would have made more sense to leave Joely in, IBB J-Rod (duh) and try to get Polanco to hit it on the ground. I’ve followed Polanco for a long time. He sucks vs. Ls with no power.

    Offseason rumors

This is so not true in the world I live in - which is LA. Every Dodgers fan I know (and it’s a lot) have said it’s a legit World Series victory and they get mad when you point out otherwise. All the Giants fans I know (which is a lot since I grew up in NorCal) say it doesn’t count and it’s ”not...

If I recall correctly, their schedule was REALLY TOUGH the last month and a half and you could see the collapse coming for that reason alone.

I would like to see Le Brez pay down Kenley’s contract so we can get Kyle Hurt (25yo and WAAAY down the pecking order). CBS Sports (yes they are terrible) put him on their 2024 All-Rookie Team but he’s mostly under the radar it seems: Alternate: Kyle Hurt, Dodgers With his 14.9 K/9 and 20...

Joey Ortiz is an EXCELLENT defender. BA gave him a 70-grade at SS a few weeks ago. And he’s not a glove-only SS, he’s got a pretty good bat too.

Have you seen Woo pitch? He’s REALLY good. IMO he’s already better than Bello. (BTW, Woo is 23; Crawford 28 by Opening Day). His new sinker is great (see vid below). Ls were hitting him during the season so he added another pitch and was much better vs. them 2nd half. PitcherList has Woo as the...

Re: Edward Cabrera — Last season, Kim Ng was the GM but has now been replaced by Peter Bendix who came over from the Rays. Cabrera’s stuff is some of the nastiest stuff in the majors (obviously control is the issue).

Most of those were pre-Trackman/StatCast, etc. We have a lot more info on prospects to assess them now (Responding to Marzano). Was just listening to the top 101 on BP and teams measure the angle and speed of the bat to ball and how much wasted movement and time a player has in his swing.The...

How to Add a Starting Pitcher

After listening to Baseball America’s Red Sox Prospects pod (free on Spotify), trading one of Mayer/Anthony/Teel for 2 years of Cease or 3 of Luzardo (I love Luzardo) would be a MAJOR MAJOR mistake. https://open.spotify.com/episode/3WuJH7ovepmDwPl52t7jmf?si=GNW7xK51ROexfit30ecY4A

I’ve listened to long in-depth interviews with Joe Maddon and he has said that bad baserunning and bad defense is definitely part of the manager’s responsibility. His teams always focused on the fundamentals more than other teams and it usually showed.
