Weird time for US Open Mens Final

Don't know if this is the right place, but am I the only one that finds this odd. I totally get putting the Mens Final on Monday as it adds an extra gate, but why start it at 5pm eastern time? Why not Prime Time? 5pm or 2pm in the west seems to be a random time to have a Grand Slam Final and...
