    Improving the NFL Viewing Experience

    Why not have second TV channel devoted to an alternate viewing angle? You would need two TVs but those are getting less expensive every year. And the NFL could surely monetize that as a subscription. People have multiple monitors at their desk jobs, why not in their man caves for watching sports?

    There will obviously be more scrutiny on the footballs this week. So I wonder if that hurts Seattle more than New England. Wilson probably has smaller hands than Brady (I mean, that's what I've heard), so it might be more difficult for him to grip. Am I reaching here?

    Sure, for bWAR. What about fWAR, where Bautista (7.9) has a slim- and shrinking- lead over Ellsbury (7.7), while Verlander is at 6.4. I know neither WAR calculation is perfect, but to ignore fWAR is irresponsible.

    Re: Who Are Your Top 5 Hitters of the Past 30 Years? - no Ichiro? I'm a lurker and can't post, but 200+ hits in every MLB season, leading the league seven of those season. .331 cumulative batting average. 262 hits in 2004, which is a record (unless you count stats from 1887, which I don't).
