On the off chance someone is interested, I’ve a bib for the Antelope Canyon Ultramarathon 55k. It is available because my wife took a new job with limited time off.

I love the smell of burning oil in the morning - The Formula 1 2022 season

What I recalled of KMag issues was the length of time he drove around damaged, several many laps. In one he spewed CF all over the track grinding the wobbly end plate down. So perhaps Checo gets a pass because it quickly “resolved” itself? To me it is all weird because FIA failed to act...

I love the smell of burning oil in the morning - The Formula 1 2022 season

To me, it seems Williams would be better off sitting Latifi immediately. He can’t/won’t bring anything more to the table and eight races would season DV.

I love the smell of burning oil in the morning - The Formula 1 2022 season

With the knowledge of this forum, I wonder if folks can recommend a race to attend? I read an Autoweek article that referenced a complation of costs which provides some insight on which to avoid on a budget. My newly minted F1 fanatic wife is thinking an International Race, likely outside the...

I love the smell of burning oil in the morning - The Formula 1 2022 season

Snakebit maybe because the engines are unreliable? I would associate being snakebitten more with, say, Stroll and Max losing tires at Baku because Pirelli honked up the simulations (I really suspect the race was on the verge of a catastrophe if things were just a bit worse). LeClerc is snakebit...

Good luck DH! Falmouth is a race I’ve wanted to try for a few years. In the next few weeks the ‘ette and I are beginning training for the Antelope Canyon 55k in March. Going to be an interesting challenge!

    Formula 1 - 2021 - Chasing down Lewis?

Hope folks won’t mind this…we are thinking of attending the Grand Prix in Barcelona. Has anyone been to the race and could comment on seating? Looking at the course, Section N seems intriguing.

    Formula 1 - 2021 - Chasing down Lewis?

Noob here too…is there an instance of Baby Bull helping Red Bull? They are almost always backmarkers to Mercedes and cannot insert themselves to impede passing. I think Tsunoda has done more harm to Max than anyone else on the field!

Man in the Arena on ESPN Plus

If called properly the play is dead immediately upon Woods being touched by the opposing player? Terrible miss as that’s the same call in the Pats v KC AFCCG?

    Formula 1 - 2021 - Chasing down Lewis?

Maybe not the right forum…seeing Willy T Ribbs on the telecast prompted me to finally watch “Uppity” from my saved list on Netflix. Holy crap is he one awesome mofo. My new favorite dude and top of the “can I have a beer with you list” even over all the NE sports greats. I only wonder where...

Outstanding!!! To echo Preacher, I love a good hot tub after a tough race. Wish I had one at home. Oddly enough, I also find a nice easy couple of miles the day after helps flush out the legs as well.

This thread has been quiet, understandably so with Covid. However things are opening up, so perhaps the latest bunch of “tools into running” have some activities planned? We ran our first post epidemic half in June, in hilly and always humid Fairfield. The plan was Wineglass for a second time...

Outstanding!!! Definitely for those very few that are willing to endure. I can’t hit 100 mile weeks let alone over the course of 1.5 days.

So can SoSH talk about Deflategate again?

Late to the party...the non-simple part is getting an accurate gage (said as much in the mega thread). What you can buy at a sporting goods store is barely suitable for measuring whole psi with accuracy. If I were to prepare a document reporting 11.XY psi, the calibrated measuring device shall...

Hey glad you are all still here :) By and large, I think you will "know" when more stuff is required. I returned to running years ago with a cheap Timex, measured the miles via car odometer, wore Champion basketball (gym) shorts, an old pair of sneakers, and cotton t's. I would run with...

    2000: The Lost Year

I’m not a football genius and, like many, avoid any replays of the Scottish game. That said, I think there is a sideline angle that appears to show he curls up on the ball. Of course he loses it in the ensuing ruck when the OL jumps onto him. How different is his recovery to the KC playoff game...

    2020 Broncos: Lock and Roll

J-man, I thought you were hitting us with a belated April fools joke in predicting Denver would go 17-0. Then my mind sprung into gear and I realized those are only the weeks! Back to reading comprehension school for me...

Congratulations! The great part about your first race is that you get an automatic PB. The next, better part, is you have an improved feel for the distance and what you can accomplish. Find another race, train, and beat the competition. Which is, at the end of the day, always yourself.

That was then: Celebrating what was

Was there something special about the LA kicking game that made Edelman play catches (or not) the way he did? For example, on that SB record punt a free catch would have saved several/many yards. It seemed that Edelman had a couple like that one. Maybe a few less yards to drive on one or two...
