    The Mount Rushmore of....Athletes?

I have always thought that Emil Zatopek’s triple gold in 1952 is the most amazing Olympic performance. The 5,000 m, 10,000 m, and marathon are such different disciplines even though all are distance events. To even attempt all three is crazy. To win them all in Olympic record times is...

    Apple mail sync with Outlook

It is just a problem with my macbook (and my desktop, an iMac).

    Apple mail sync with Outlook

I've tried to set it up both ways, but the suggested route is through Exchange. Neither seems to work. This is strange because, like I said, it had worked before and synced seamlessly on my phone (iPhone) and tablet (iPad).

    Apple mail sync with Outlook

I can't receive or send mail from Apple Mail on my laptop or home computer. Anytime I want to check or respond to work mail I have to go through the web application. This requires a few extra steps, the search function sucks, and it is slower. I'd much rather just sync it all through Apple Mail...

    Apple mail sync with Outlook

My work’s IT has been incredibly unhelpful with this and I can’t seem to find anything through google, or, more likely, I haven’t hit in the right search terms. All of a sudden my work outlook account stopped working with macbook air’s mail. I called our work’s IT and they have told me they will...

    2015 Gold Cup

Mexico really put together a fun game to watch.  The first few minutes were sloppy and Mexico let Jamaica control the game, but once they settled in Mexico owned the game.  They had incredibly crisp passing and seemed to know where their players were and where they would be. They played really...

    Super Bowl Schwag

The only Patriots gear I own is a throwback John Hannah jersey.  I bought it after the Pats won their first super bowl.  I know he was from a different era, but he was always my favorite player when I was a kid (and probably my favorite player of all time), and the super bowl victory gave me the...

    SOSH Running Dogs

Congrats on your accomplishments Poulson.     I finally got back on the trails yesterday.  They were an awful mix of granular snow, ice, water, hard pack, slick mud, and wet rock, but it was wonderful to be off the roads for the first time in 3 weeks.  Looking outside now, I think I am going to...

Fris- The trails around here have been miserable too.  The quick freezes and thaws have led to ice covered with a thin layer of water and/or mud: really treacherous.  I went out by headlamp last night and my dog took the worst spill I have ever seen a dog take.  She was catching back up to me...

Burnt- I am a fairly big guy too. I am a little over 6' and my love for beer means that I am rarely much under 200 lbs.  I have not found that I am too big for minimalist shoes or midfoot striking.  In fact, I have found that I feel a lot less beat up now than I ever did before I forced myself...

That was a really great post Frisbetarian.  I mostly lurk on this site, but I thought I might have something to add to this conversation. I just made the transition to trail ultras last year (but I have been mostly running on technical trails for the last 7or 8 years).  I totally agree with you...

    SOSH Running Dogs

Hello all- I am going to be staying in Foxborough this weekend for a family reunion on Saturday and to take the kids to their first Sox game at Fenway on Friday. I have a scheduled 16 miler for the weekend. I am trying to figure out if I'd be better to just get out early and do the run on...

Game 7 - Bruins @ Canucks - Protect the Civic

I just got my daughters back in bed after waking them up to see the end of the game (they are 8 and 6). I can't believe I got live through 2004 and now this. My Ma called and told me that she had brought me to a Stanley Cup party in 1972. I was 1 year old and apparently my Uncles and Aunts...

Game 7 - Bruins @ Canucks - Protect the Civic

I usually only post in the running forum and lurk in RMPS. The stories in this thread have been great. I'll just add a short one. I moved away from Savin Hill when I was 5 and had to keep the love for Boston sports alive growing up in Yankee country. When I met my wife, in 9th grade, the only...

Pat, that sounds like it was an amazing experience. I can't even imagine the punishment. Congratulations and thank you for some great notes on the run.

    SOSH Running Dogs

I had a really nice run last night. It was a hilly 8 miler with negative mile splits. I ran an 8:35 warmup mile and then: 8:22, 8:08, 7:47, 7:45, 7:10, 6:52, 6:36. Mile 3 was a long steep hill; mile 4 and 5 were filled with a few large rollers. The last mile was pretty hard but I felt like I...

    SOSH Running Dogs

I've been lurking on the baseball forums for a little while. I just decided to look at some of the other forums and I noticed this thread. Here's a brief intro: If pressed I'd class myself as fairly fit but fairly fat. I began running much more seriously this year. I'm still slow but I am...
