Thoughts/Impressions on “The Dynasty” Apple TV Series

Eh, I just think this is a thoroughly uninteresting, if inarguably correct, way to look at it. But I don't want to steer the conversation into "talk radio fodder" or whatever, just find it interesting that there's no "Chiefs way" or people endlessly praising Clark Hunt for KC's success.

Thoughts/Impressions on “The Dynasty” Apple TV Series

So I guess there's no Bill without Kraft and he actually is the one most responsible for the dynasty after all because no other owner was trading a first round pick for Bill Belichick at that time either.

    Let's Lay Off That Throttle

It's honestly driving me insane how prevalent this "you can't pay people enough to play in Boston!" narrative has become for both Patriots and Red Sox fans.

    Potential new NFL rules

I think they have to make something work with the onside kick, but otherwise I love the kickoff change. More returns is always better, kickers are way too good now, they couldn't keep it the way it was last year.

What do you want Pats to do with #3?

Mac Jones that runs 4.5, had the sixth best three cone drill in the entire combine and a really good arm is such a fundamentally different prospect that I don't really get the comparison. I don't love McCarthy either, but I think it's easy to see why some would fall in love with the toolset and...

    Potential new NFL rules

Yeah, and even if there's a way they could indeed bring him down without a hip drop, every trailing defender will have that possibility on his mind, which already alters a lot of plays. The argument that a hip drop tacklle happens on average once a game is ridiculous precisely for that reason...

Yet another Pats draft poll--Your preference, 5 weeks out

I disagree with this take simply because Penix has an incredibly low pressure to sack conversion rate, which indicates he's able to deal with the rush from within the pocket very well. It's by far the best in this class. Mobile QBs can very often create pressures and sacks, Justin Fields doesn't...

What do you want Pats to do with #3?

I was obviously comparing them in terms of potential and production, not body types or play style, but being an asshole is free I guess.

What do you want Pats to do with #3?

Nico Collins and his career high 480 receiving yards. Who knows what a guy like Pop Douglas could be with a CJ Stroud level QB throwing him the ball.

What do you want Pats to do with #3?

I do think their overemphasis on "leadership, toughness" as attributes the Patriots are looking for in a QB could be a sign they like McCarthy more than we are projecting them to. I think JJ is an interesting prospect in terms of physical tools and he's more mechanically ready/sound with...

What do you want Pats to do with #3?

Picking the right guy at whatever other non-QB position at 3, or with the first rounders they get for 3 in a trade changes basically nothing for the team's future prospects, though. I don't understand the idea that a QB failing is that much of a blow. It he sucks you move on, teams aren't...

    Non-Patriots Free Agency News 2024

I think they would 100% be better off having Snead for the very reasonable deal he signed. Don't like Ridley at that price.

    Non-Patriots Free Agency News 2024

They have more payroll flexibility than any other team in football by a mile and won't be paying big money for a QB for the next four years at the very least. Also, why would it take 3 seasons until they're ready to contend? So strange to be that content with them not putting the best product...

    Non-Patriots Free Agency News 2024

Sometimes I wonder how the Patriots will ever enter a window of contention if they are only allowed to acquire good players once they are in said window.

    Non-Patriots Free Agency News 2024

That's very reasonable money for a high value position. It's Mike Onwenu APY. No brainer to pair him with Gonzalez for the foreseeable future at that price, and it's not like the Titans are contenders in a much better spot than the Patriots.

Yet another Pats draft poll--Your preference, 5 weeks out

I think Sam Darnold fits better as the Maye downside comp.

What do you want Pats to do with #3?

I don't hate this plan because the WR class is absolutely stacked and there's a real argument that a player at that position who will be available at, say, 27 in this draft will be better than a receiver that you'll need to draft at 12 in 2025. Tackle class is strong too.

What do you want Pats to do with #3?

I'd take Daniels at 3 over trading down as well, but I don't love him so it'd be way easier to deal with it. I think Maye could be special.

What do you want Pats to do with #3?

I'm going to lose my mind if they trade down with Maye on the board. If it's Daniels, meh.

Thoughts/Impressions on “The Dynasty” Apple TV Series

Yes, if we end up somehow taking a QB who will have 3 MVPs at age 26 instead of Lamar's 2, it will have been worth it.
