    Potential Red Sox manager candidates

I think Cora would do great for the kids. He has this way of making everyone comfortable and happy. He kept Manny in line. I get this feeling that Xander, Mookie and JBJ all beat themselves up too much at times, especially Xander. Maybe losing Papi's personality could be replaced by Cora.

I remember reading that he was pretty happy where he was at. Now that he has a ring, he might be ready for more.

He is my #1, but he also has kids in high school out in LA, so there is speculation that he doesn't want to leave now.

    Potential Red Sox manager candidates

I'm pretty sure that baseball is becoming a young manager's game just like it has become a young man's game. Or at least young as in not stubborn and stuck in their ways yet.

I completely agree with you. This manager hire will decide entirely how done I am with DD. If it's Kapler, Cora or Martinez, I'm giving him more chances. If it's Ausmus or some old retread, I'm done with him.

The Epitaph on the 2017 Season

One of the biggest things they need is to manage Sale's workload including possibly giving him a DL stint over the All-Star break like they used to do for Beckett. They will get Wright back and have both Beeks and Velazquez in AAA with options so they should have better SP depth next year...

Cora is in Houston so he has probably bought into the analytics koolaid. They're supposedly the team that is most analytics based of them all.

I hope Dave Martinez is interviewed. I'm still highest on Kapler, but have doubts he'll want to move because he has kids in high school. Cora is also in my top 3.

What you can blame JF for most is how he managed game 1 like it was a regular season game, leaving Sale in to give up 5 runs when he clearly had nothing, and then two runners to start the 6th. Then he brought in Joe Kelly and 100% of Red Sox fans knew those two runners would score. Then the...

He hit 100 and 101 in that game several times and never did it during the season that I remember. He typically was 97-98.

DD said that the next candidate will probably not be anyone currently in the organization so that probably rules out DiSarcina. Also, the coaches are welcome back if the new manager wants to keep them, so that indicates that it's not some huge clubhouse mess.

I just answered it. I didn't mean to sound defensive. I'm not. I know that people don't usually believe someone saying something like that.

It was a tweet from a Boston reporter around the trade deadline. If you don't want to believe me, don't. That's all I got. I didn't save it and there's no way I'll be able to find it.

It was mentioned during the trade deadline and was why they weren't in on making any big moves. I didn't save it. I'm sure it could be a lie, but I tend to believe it because of how willing he is to trade prospects and that he didn't trade any major ones.

If baseball teams think he's a good manager, he'll get a new job. It's not like chicken and beer and prescription medication abuse limited Tito's options.

We have no idea what goes on behind closed doors and are just guessing. I guess whoever is hired as the new manager will give us an indication of who has the most input on running the team.

John Henry is DD's boss and he is not unanalytical. And DD has already been told not to trade any more major prospects. JH is running the team.

My theory on the why is that he was too resistant to advice from the analytics guys. They were probably telling him to play Lin over Holt and that Brentz would likely be a big upgrade over Chris Young and he just refused. I would believe this before I'd believe clubhouse nonsense.
