    NY 'Summer Training' Discussion

I liked reading the CC to Cole comparison. I really love the new ace. Thanks for keeping us up to date.

    Who was Mickey Mantle?

Thanks for starting this thread terrynever (and contributors), I learned a bit about his personal life.

    Hank Steinbrenner dead at 63

Unfortunately, that’s something that I‘ll always remember him for. But condolences to the Steinbrenner family.

    (When) Will the Season Start?

Blow it up or they can all play in Florida (or all in Arizona). If there's not enough spring training stadiums, then they can use college stadiums. It's not like they'll be used with students being asked to go home.

    (When) Will the Season Start?

With no fans, it probably doesn't matter where they play.

    NY roster 2020

    ESPN ranked their top 100 for 2020. 82. Stanton 63. Sanchez 58. Chapman 57. DJ 32. Gleyber 15. Judge 2. Cole

    Only God Can Judge Judge

This guy’s defense is good and had a 0.4 bref dWAR in only 40 games or 107 PA. If his offense matches that and another Tauchman emerges, great, and if not, he can be a good defensive substitute.

    Only God Can Judge Judge

I’m not worried because we’ve experienced an unprecedented amount of injuries last year, and I don’t want to say accustomed to such news but definitely not shocking anymore. Well Sevy’s was a shock, though. But, dammit, it would be nice to get a full season from some of our favorite players so...

    NY roster 2020

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that. I thought, perhaps, the status on that website was inaccurate. Selfishly, I'm rooting for Schmidt and Deiv, but fair is fair.

    NY roster 2020

I looked at the Fangraphs Roster Resource website that you shared on the Red Sox forum. The roster resource is great resource, btw, and thanks as it makes matters much easier to follow. But I have a question, on the projected opening day status, it has Loaisiga in the starting rotation. Is that...

    NY roster 2020

I particularly like the Schmidt comments by Britton’s brother, a Double-A manger. He thinks he’s “going to be special.” The Frazier comments by DJ too.

    NY rotation 2020

Yeah, and the kid(s) that will pitch will get to learn tremendously from both Cole and Tanaka who are more or less opposites yet effective.

NY minor league prospect news (2020 edition)

Thanks for explaining that, and yeah Arias being only 14 is weird, but it'll be nice to see how he progresses.

How does the international signing process work? It seems like the Yankees are often signing top prospects.

    Let's Talk About MLBTV

Thanks, I'll set my phone reminder for this date, and hopefully get a deal on slickdeals as another member suggested. Better than paying $121.99 which is the full-season price for 2020, but either way I'm not missing the opener.

    Tommy John for Severino

They probably don’t value the SP replacements early in the season especially Montgomery and a minor leaguer, and probably not as high on Gio, DJ, Tauchman, Gardner and Voit relative to last season. But, I think they'll win more than 95.3 wins.

    Tommy John for Severino

I couldn't agree more, and I'm not sure if I'm looking at the correct information but on Fangraphs it has it 100 wins, and it states: Edit: The fangraphs link is confusing because it was posted Feb. 21, but there is mention of Severino's injury...

    NY rotation 2020

Thank goodness for the depth, and reinforcements that should return before the all-star break. On another positive note, we all wanted to see one of the minor league kids pitch, and we’ll probably get to see that, and who knows maybe one of them excels.
