Well, I guess we’re the 7th best team in the playoffs now.

(I am sure I am egregiously late with that joke. Can’t wait to read this thread)

The Red Sox doing what it takes to make sure MLB doesn't have a World Series title in a city that won't even have a franchise in three years.

Happy Rays Elimination Day!
Shit franchise
Shit ballpark
Shit baseball market
Shit unis
Shit manager
Shit fans, the both of them

Good.

*The actual group of 25 guys plays hard, much respect, a few of their guys are ballers and I'd gladly have them. Everything surrounding them is ass.

I want Chicago. I won’t even be that upset if we don’t get past them. Let’s go all Sox.
I want to beat LaRussa badly. I want to beat him 31-2 and have our hitters showboat every time they put one into the bleachers, and then turn to him and grab their balls.

You're going to have to get Raffy out either way unless you throw someone out at the plate. I guess they just wanted it to be with two outs so that a fly ball doesn't end it?
Yeah not including wild pitches or errors or balks I guess it goes like this:

Option 1: Kike wins with a productive out or better or Raffi wins with a hit.

Option 2: Raffi wins with a productive out or walk or better. Inning over with double play. Xander wins with a walk or hit.

It’s close. Two bad options. Giving two guys a chance to win with a BB barring a double play is a tough spot.

Also, Cash needs not just to get out of that inning but cannot win the game without at least three more outs in the tenth. Visiting manager is always a little behind in a tie game after the 8th.

On the postgame show, of course Red Sox legend Ortiz is yelling and celebrating the win. Beside him is Frank Thomas, a White Sox icon, and beloved by their fanbase forever.
Then you have A-Rod, who played for Seattle, Texas and NY, but no fanbase anywhere can stand him. He is a guy without a team and without fans, and nobody likes him anywhere. It's awesome.

I had to turn it off after the Tilt meltdown. Just watched updates on the MLB app until the 9th. Then I turned it back on. How did my heart take 2003 and 2004?

Congrats to all of you. Sox really pulled everything together this series (and in WC game). They are absolutely frightening right now. They seem like a really fun, likeable bunch, too. Plus Cora outmanaged Cash.

A few years ago (or maybe more than a few I have no concept of time anymore) we did a SOSH livestream rewatch of games 4 and 5 and my heart still couldn't take them knowing the results.

You’re an A+ poster and that Tampa team is chock full of all stars. Great fight.
