Let's give this a shot.

The Wild come to town with a 3-2-1 record, their 7 points good for second place in the Central division.

STORYLINES
  • With Zane McIntyre being sent back down to the AHL, it remains unclear what Claude Julien will do in net.
    • Will he throw Tuukka Rask back between the pipes to face his four Finnish brethren on Minnesota? With 4 of the NHL's 31 Finns, that promises to be a showdown for the ages
    • Or will Julien stick with Anton Khudobin, the former Wild great (4-1-0, 1.40 GAA, .955 sv%) who's struggled when facing his old club (1-2-0, 3.03 GAA, .833sv%)
    • Ninja edit! Per cshea, Khudobin was hurt in practice, so it appears the matchup of Old Club v. New Club will have to wait until the next time these teams meet on November 17th.
    • Will Claude Julien give the reins to newly-called up Malcolm Subban? In Subban's only NHL appearance, he was chased out of the net against St. Louis. St. Louis is not far from Minnesota, so we'll have to see if that factors into the pre-game hubbub and/or ballyhoo
  • Look out, league! The WIld are tied for 6th in Goals For this year. In prior years, they've ranked 19th, 12th, and 24th.
  • Eric Staal is on Minnesota now. He used to be on Carolina. You know who else used to be on Carolina? Reilly Nash. You know who else? John-Michael Liles. #Storylines
  • David Backes is from Minnesota

right here
Khudobin left practice and Subban up on emergency basis. I'm pretty sure The Realness is next on the depth chart so buckle up...

McIntyre up. Looks like the B's will have a Subban/McIntyre goaltending duo for tonight and possibly tomorrow.

Backes is out as well. Day-to-day, sez Clode. Subban gets the start in net. McQuaid is back.

I read the D pairs wrong, looks like Miller is in and Morrow is sitting.

Subban has been booed off the ice twice in Providence already this season. That must mean he'll get a shutout just to thoroughly confuse everyone.

In Subban we trust, I guess. This season could get ugly if Rask is out for an extended period... One game at a time.

Is this a competition with the patriots for how many different people they can start in a key position?

Ice isn't great. Malcolm's been solid with puck stopping, not a lot of chances to control his rebounds

Worlds End
first one pretty damn flukey, but could have been stopped. The second was a bad bounce on a dump in followed by a complete coverage breakdown like 10 seconds later.
