Game 4 for Grz. Having dispensed with the new and old stars Grz and Bergy lead the Bs in an original 6 tilt.

It is an unparalleled pleasure to watch Captain Patrice out on the ice always in position, always making the right decision.

The Bs are gelling with Montgomery’s style and you can see where this path can take them.

Keep the pressure on the Wings and good things will happen.

Score early, score often.

Win.

Wings looking like a fun team to watch, not a fun team to play against. Should be a solid test, you know they want a piece of the Bruins.

Detroit has the Redwood Line. 6'8" Elmer Soderblom, 6'6" Michael Rassmussen, 6'3" Oskar Sundqvist. Jack will have some fun with it.

They are off to a decent start record wise but the underlyings are pretty ugly still. I think they are a year or two away. Seider and Raymond look like foundational pieces and are a lot of fun to watch. Seider especially.

Anyone call him "Elmer Thudd" yet?

I suppose the best way to limit his minutes with minimal disruptions to the lineup is to keep him off of PP and PK?

I watched the last game on Stars announcers and the number of times they mentioned how often Bruins D was puck watching shows they are still figuring it out back there. So it's good they are banking points when the D is still a bit behind with McAvoy still out and adjusting to the new Montgomery emphasis. Hopefully they can keep getting better back there while scoring the points.

It may sound counter intuitive, but special teams is actually easier for a returning player than 5x5. There's much less skating involved, particularly for a winger. On the PK, there's some forechecking on a clear and perhaps a break or two but the bulk is getting the puck and clearing it out, then changing. It's pretty minimal, he's not out there chasing guys around, it's positioning and getting in lanes. On the PP, he doesn't have to skate back into his own end. When it's cleared the D retrieve and start the rush, he hangs out in the neutral zone. 5x5 is up and down the ice. 95% of his PP time is spent from the red line in.

Sounds like Freddy stays in, Greer comes out.

Marchand - Bergeron - DeBrusk
Hall - Krejci - Pastrnak
Frederic - Coyle - Zacha
Foligno - Nosek - Smith

Lindholm - Grzelyck
Forbort - Clifton
Zboril - Carlo

Swayman

We'll see what shakes out roster wise. Reilly coming out may be an indication he's on his way to Providence.

Holy shit marchy, what a gamer. Hope the medical team did their due diligence and he's not rushing it. Especially with their hot start, no need to take any risks with him at all.

In isolation, it's not counter-intuitive at all. It's just that PP/PK time is an unknown, and if his time is tilted towards that, it means having to juggle the rest of the forwards to accommodate what would be Marchand's reduced 5x5 time. Put another way, keeping him at 5x5 is an easier way to manage minutes, even if each of those minutes is tougher than PP/PK time.

Regardless, though, this is great news.

Montgomery admitted to “playing it coy” about the return date - they wanted to make sure Marchand felt ok this morning before confirming that he’d rejoin the line up.

This is awesome news. The lines are deep. I would still prefer a “develop the yutes“ 4th line but given current salary cap constraints I’m interested to see how Foligno/Nosek/Smith fare against other bottom 6 lines.

It does seem like Reilly to Providence is the short term solution. So this is awesome news for everyone except him.

Swayman has a strong lineup supporting him tonight and the home crowd is going to go absolutely berserk.

Let’s go!

I don't know if I've ever seen a guy whiff on so many easy zone keeps as Lindholm.

There was a point where Foglino tried to beat Seider in a race to the red line. That was not a good idea.
